Google Glass launch

After Google released it's latest video highlighting Project Glass, many were left salivating for when they'd be able to buy a pair of their own. Google launched the #IfIHadGlass contest to allow a number of people the ability to be the first purchasers of the "Explorer" edition of the ambitious headset, but even though the price there is $1500, you need to be one of a selected few. Today, The Verge got info direct from Google that it hopes to get Google Glass on the market for all consumers to by before the end of 2013. The price? "Less than $1,500." Pretty vague, but we are still a full 10 months away from the end of the year, and there's still much work to be done.

What price are you hoping to see Google Glass launch at? Any predictions?

Earthrace Circumnavigates on Body Fat

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Science, Transportation, Videos

Peter Bethume is attempting his second circumnavigation of the planet in Earthrace, a boat that is powered by biodiesel fuel as an alternate to fossil fuel. In order to draw attention to the trip, he and two other crew members received liposuction and collected about 2.5 gallons of fat from their bodies. That’s enough to go nine miles. In all, the ship carries 3,000 gallons of fuel and can go up to 2,800 miles on a full tank. It can withstand heavy winds and 50 ft. waves. The trip has been estimated to take about 65 days.

Costing almost $5 million to create, Bethume cooked up this video last year in an attempt to raise funds for the voyage. We bet that he would still be willing to take donations, either in funding or your own body fuel.
