Sansa Clip + MP3 Player

Posted by Mark Rollins Categories: Portable Audio / Video,

Sansa Clip + MP3 PlayerSanDisk, maker of everyone’s favorite microSDs, released the Clip a while ago, hoping that people would warm up to playing MP3s off of their specially made music cards instead of going to iTunes.  It didn’t exactly revolutionize the digital music industry, but the company is obviously still high on the idea, what with the release of the Sansa Clip +.

The Clip + is supposedly “one of the best sounding MP3 players on the market,” and it features the microSD slot, a one-inch OLED display visible under sunlight, an FM tuner with 40 preset stations, and even a microphone for voice recording. You should be able to get the Sansa Clip + now in 2GB ($39.99), 4GB ($49.99), and 8GB ($69.99) models in red, blue, or black. Amazon is selling them at a 13% discount.

Bleeding Edge TV 194: SanDisk Sansa TakeTV Demonstration

When it comes to the Sansa device, we’ve done an unboxing video and even show you how to set up the TakeTV in your home. In our latest video, we show you how the darn thing works. We have it hooked up already, so now it’s time to put some content on it and fire it up. Do note, the Sansa TakeTV does ship with a couple of sample video clips already on it in case you just want to test your setup.

Once we put some video files on it, we were able to watch some of them on the device - we forgot that the TakeTV doesn’t support high definition video, so those clips failed to play. Other than that, this is really a no brainer. There isn’t even a complicated menu system. You plug the device in to your TV, and you get a list of videos to play. Easy. Check it out, and let us know if there are any other questions we can answer for you guys.

2007 Holiday Gift Guide: SanDisk Sansa Shaker

Sandisk Sansa Shaker

If your children are anything like my three-year old son, then chances are that they are just as familiar with your gadgets as you are. They want to hold them, use them, mimicking you every step of the way. The thing is, gadgets aren’t the most affordable things in the world, and children don’t seem to understand that. This is where the Sansa Shaker comes in - it’s a fully-functional flash player that is meant for little kids. SanDisk did a good job with this one too - just holding it you can tell it’s durable. It has two built-in headphone jacks for tandem enjoyment, as well as a speaker if you prefer your children not put on headphones. It’s called the Shaker because, when you sake it, you advance it to another track, shuffle-style. It is shaped perfectly for little hands, and has a couple of job wheels for volume and track selection. The device runs on one AAA battery, which will last for about 8 hours of playback. You can pick one up for $30, which holds 512 MB of content (about 120 songs) or opt for the $40 1 GB player, which will hold about 240 tracks. They are available in pink and blue.

Sandisk Sansa Shaker

Techie gadgets geared toward kids is a booming business, and has joined the bandwagon with its Sansa Shaker MP3 player. Besides being awfully cute, the Shaker has a built-in speaker, two headphone jacks for sharing (awwww), and internal 512MB, which can be expanded with an SD card. White bands on the top and bottom have all the navigation controls. There’s also a mysterious “shake” feature, although SanDisk isn’t revealing what that is yet. We admit to being slightly uncomfortable with kids

using headphones at a young age, so parents may want to check out these headphones. The Shaker will be available soon, for $40 USD.
