Samsung Captivate

just sent us official word that the Samsung Captivate will be launching on their network on Sunday, July 18th. The Captivate looks to be the first truly lust-worthy 2.1 smartphone that AT&T will offer. It’s got a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GHz processor, and is super-thin. You’ll be able to pick one up for $199 with two-year contract, no rebates needed. Other carriers will be getting the Captivate as well, although branded differently, so if you aren’t an AT&T customer you’ll have to play the waiting game a bit more.

Posted by Mark Rollins Categories: Cameras, Smartphones,

Samsung SCH-W880

has followed up their Pixon 12 or M8910 with the SCH-W880 or M8920.  This new model is essentially like the first, which is a cellular phone with a camera that is much better than most cell phone cameras. In fact, it’s a lot more like a digital camera that also happens to have phone capability as well.

The SCH-W880 comes with a 12 megapixel sensor, as well as a mode dial, shutter, zoom, Xenon flash, and HD video at 30fps.  It also has a 3.3 inch AMOLED WGA screen with Wi-Fi, GPS, and , as well as a microSD slot.

There is no word when this will come out, nor a price, but it will have a Korean release when it does. Yeah, we’re jealous.
