Bringing the boys back home

Posted by Adrien Griffin Categories: Athletes, NHL,

Shane O'BrienIt’s been a long-time coming. 42 days, 14 games in 13 cities, and 13,000 miles later, the longest road trip in NHL history is officially over. The Canucks are heading back to Vancouver for their first home game since Jan. 27 at the formerly-named Canada Hockey Place. The Canucks went 8-5-1 during the trip which, all things considered, is just about what could be hoped for from the road-weary skaters. After Wednesday’s shootout loss to Phoenix, the only thing any Canuck could possibly want is a night in his own bed.

Roberto LuongoTonight, as part of CBC’s Hockey Day in Canada, the Vancouver Canucks took on the Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The Canucks will go 42 days without playing a home game. Along the way, they’ll play 14 games in 13 cities and cover 12,855 miles.

Canadiens set to embark on two-week road trip

Andrei MarkovIs there any team lower than the Montreal Canadiens? With 10 games played in December, the Canadiens are 3-6-1 for a whopping seven points, and now, they head out for a seven-game road trip that will take them through the New Year before ultimately, and perhaps mercifully, returning home on Jan. 3. Accompanying the team as usual will be Andrei Markov for their first game against the New York Islanders on Saturday night, but for the first time since their first game, Markov will lace up the skates.

How About a Coleman Road Trip?

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Smart Home, Misc. Tech,

Coleman BlenderColeman, our fave traveling companion, has decided that we might need a blender on our next outing. The Road Trip portable device chops and mixes 20-30 pitchers on one full charge of two 6V and 4.5AH rechargeable batteries. With a rubber, non-skid base, push button on/off control, it features an LED battery level indicator. While we might not turn it into a bassomatic, we think maybe all that sleeping on the ground will entice us to make a pitcher of margaritas which Coleman claims only takes 30 seconds. Available with a one year warranty, it carries a MSRP of $77.49.
