Beyonce Treats Jay Z to Vegan Birthday Feast
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Birthdays,
Beyonce Knowles treated Jay Z to a vegan feast for his 44th birthday on Wednesday.
The "Love On Top" hitmaker took her rapper husband, who has vowed to stick to a plant-based diet until Christmas Day, to the popular organic restaurant, Cafe Gratitude, in Los Angeles. The couple, who left their 23-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, at home for the occasion, tucked into a range of meatless dishes including marinated kale salad, Indian curried lentils and corn tacos with chipotle butternut squash, according to gossip website TMZ.com, before enjoying vegan chocolate truffles for dessert.
Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway and singer Ariana Grande were also dining in eatery at the time.
Their outing came just one day after Jay Z revealed that he and his wife were inspired by a close friend to give up animal food products until December 25. "Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. On the 22nd day, you've found the way. On December 3, one day before my 44th birthday I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based! This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a 'plant-based breakfast' everyday. It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought," the "Holy Grail" hitmaker wrote on his Life and Times Blog on Tuesday.

Tom Cruise Demanded Empty Restaurant
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Rumors,
Tom Cruise demanded a hotel kick out all its guests so he could dine alone.
The Rock Of Ages actor wanted complete privacy for a meal at the boutique Forza Mare hotel in Dobrun, Montenegro recently and insisted no one else could be around at the same time as him. However, the outraged manager denied his request with a source telling The Sun newspaper, "Who does Mr. Cruise think he is? The hotel was full. It would have been unfair to other guests."
This didn't deter the 50-year-old actor: he ordered a seafood banquet to be delivered to his luxury yacht Lady S so he could dine in peace.
Recently Tom was left embarrassed in Hertfordshire, East England when he couldn't pay his bill in a local restaurant. Tom was left red-faced when the Veer Dhara restaurant didn't accept his American Express card or dollar bills with manager Darshit Hora explaining, "It was a big shock for us when he walked in. He said we had been recommended to him, but he would not say by whom. At the end of the meal he wanted to pay, but we could not accept American Express. He said his whole group only had dollars, then a lady came forward and paid in £50 notes."

Inamo restaurant uses E-Table to offer a digital dining experience
Posted by Reza Malayeri Categories: Design, Misc. Tech, Videos,
Inamo is a futuristic restaurant in the Soho district of London. The fusion of technology, and Asian-inspired interior design makes Inamo a destination restaurant on the bleeding edge of innovation. Inamo’s interactive dining experience is like nothing you've ever seen or tasted before. The illustrated food and drink menus are powered by E-Table technology, and Canon projectors display mouthwatering menu options on the Corian tables. The tables include round preview screens shaped like plates, allowing customers to interact with any menu item before placing an order.
Allowing customers to preview menu options is not the only trick in Inamo’s digital dining bag. Customers can watch the kitchen webcam, change the table background, watch movie trailers from Paramount Pictures UK, browse information about the local community, play games, watch short films, and even call the “I drank too much" taxi, directly from their E-table.

Puerto Rican Cuisine Done Right: La Isla Restaurant Review
Posted by Monica Edwards Categories: Dinner, Lunch, Restaurants, Product Reviews, America, Carribean, Tropical,
Over the years, my husband and I have eaten at a lot of restaurants, I hesitate to say hundreds because it makes it sound like I never cook at home, but I would not be surprised if it were true. We love food. From shopping for quality ingredients, to preparation, and execution of a great dish. It is all so fascinating, not to mention delicious if said recipe turns out as it was intended. So in order to share my love or hate for a particular restaurant, I will be reviewing these establishments now and then so that the everyday person can go in knowing what to expect and what to order and what not to order should you walk away in disgust.
Today, I will be writing about one of my favorite restaurants in the Seattle area, La Isla, located in Ballard. It is not the easiest place to get to as far as easy freeway access, but so worth the drive. I love Puerto Rican food, as my husband does, and we don’t have any other restaurants in this area, for that matter anywhere in this region that we have heard of that offers the dishes that one must have to call themselves an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant. Why is that I wonder? I hope many more will open in this area following in the footsteps of La Isla, but they will have big shoes to fill.

FOX Sneaks in One Last Kitchen Nightmare
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, FOX, Hell’s Kitchen, Gossip, Renewals,
The second season of the American version of Kitchen Nightmares began last September, and evidently finished up just last night. Though the show disappeared from the FOX schedule on November 20, it returned - briefly - for one last hurrah.
And for those of you who missed the Kitchen Nightmares finale, it’ll no doubt be reappearing on FOX’s reality channel, so never fear. The episode was touted as the last of the second season and the show does not reappear on the schedule this year, but there could be one unaired episode on the season. Some listings show this episode as the last, rather than the one touted as the last.
Make sense? Even if it doesn’t, this odd reappearance and disappearance is confusing enough. But just the same, Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares have ended this season. There are many more awaiting him in the next, however. FOX is even now casting for the third season of the show, which bodes well for Ramsay fans.
The show may be over for the year, but the chef still has a lot more reality left in him. Gordon Ramsay will only be missing from the FOX line up for two weeks, as he’s slated to return in the fifth season of Hell’s Kitchen. The premiere will air January 29th, and it’s unlikely this show will experience the same programming gap.

Order Video and Eats on Your Wii
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Nintendo, Wii,
Japan has finally realized the full monetary potential of the Wii. Beginning next year, streaming video will be available through Nintendo and partnering companies. While players are watching some of that content, they will be able to order sushi, pizza, and Japanese and Chinese food. And if Japanese gamers don’t know what to order, the roulette mode will randomly make a selection. If it picks pizza, it’s time to get back to the Wii.

McDonald’s to Offer Free Wifi
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Corporate News, Internet, Wireless / WiFi,
McDonald’s continues to try to improve its image by competing with higher end coffee bars like Starbucks. First they put out their Premium Coffee and redesigned some of their restaurants with a quieter green and yellow motif. Now they are offering free WiFi service in the U.K. in 1,200 outlets. The service is already available across the pond and in parts of the U.S., but this is the first time it will be a massive freebie. Chief Information Officer Ivan Brooks believes that regular users will save as much as $530.00 per year. That buys a lot of supersized meals, and we’re lovin’ it.
