50 Cent bored with hip-hop

50 Cent‘s interest in hip-hop is “dwindling away”. Fiddy - real name Curtis Jackson - says people’s quest for money is starting to undermine the genre and he can barely recognize the reasons why he got involved anymore. He said:  “I think people are so conscious of the numbers they’re not being creative anymore.” Despite his disillusionment with the genre, the rapper - who has other ventures away from music, including fashion and movies - is looking forward to releasing his Before I Self Destruct album later this year, which boasts a number of collaborations.

He added to Billboard magazine: “When Wisin and Yandel sent the actual concept, I listened to it and the melodies completely fit me. It could be a song that I could do apart from them. So we’re meeting on a ground that is completely comfortable for both of us. My duet with , for example - there is more compromise for me there. The content is similar to what you can see from 50 Cent, but the actual rap, style and cadence is different. But when I go into the song with Wisin and Yandel I didn’t even have to make those cadence changes.

“When these guys finish mixing I’ll finish making the decisions. People look at my projects as if it’s only 50, but it’s really 50 Cent up to Dr Dre and Eminem standards.”

Daily Snark (formerly Daily Happenings): Spencer Equals Jay-Z?

Posted by Colleen McKie Categories: Celebrities,

Description
Pratt should get over himself
Seems now that Spencer Pratt has decided to venture into the realm of making crappy music, he considers himself the know all of the rap community. In a recent interview he not only compared himself to Jay-Z but said that Heidi was better than Beyonce. He then went on to basically say that the rap artists out there right now suck and that he was the answer to all of rap’s problems.

Maybe if we’re lucky, someone from that rap community will take him out.

Pucker up
At a recent charity auction at Cannes, a single kiss form Twilight’s Robert Patterson went for a smooth $20,000.
I wouldn’t pay 20 bucks to kiss him.  Now, for the chance to slap him……

Sour grapes?
Seems that Clay Aiken is letting his fans know that he’s happy about this season’s American Idol winner and that he really, really didn’t like Adam Lambert. Clay blogged that when he heard Lambert sing Ring of Fire he thought his ears would bleed.

Don’t worry, though Adam:  Clay will still be bitching and staring in Seussical while you’re on the road with Kiss.

Rock on, Glambert!
Yes, about 4 seconds after the American Idol finale, Gene Simmons of Kiss said that runner-up Adam Lambert could, “come on tour whenever he’d like.” Lambert, not being an idiot is considering the offer.

Gag Me

Gaga lets US weekly in on how she stays so fit.

“It’s all about starvation! Pop stars don’t eat.”

Wow, that’s just a super message to all your young female fans out there. Trashy music, trashy clothes, trashy attitude.  Three for three, Gaga.  Way to go.

Eminem: I was like Bugs Bunny in rehab

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Drugs, Meltdowns,

Eminem bugs bunny rehab says he felt like Bugs Bunny during his stint in rehab. The rapper, who just launched his latest album , admits his worldwide fame left him feeling like a cartoon character when he checked into rehab in 2005 to receive treatment for drug addiction.

Marshall Mathers told BBC Radio One, “When I landed myself in rehab in 2005 I felt like I wanted to reassess everything. I remember sitting in rehab thinking, ‘Is this what it comes to, really?’ So when I got out I knew I needed to pull back from the spotlight because of the fame thing. I was like Bugs Bunny in rehab, Bugs Bunny walking in the room. The second you walk in the room…There were some people who were as supportive as they could be, some people that were like, ‘I don’t look at you as Eminem. I’m seeing you as Marshall.’”

Eminem recently revealed he wanted to kill himself at the height of his problems. According to him, he just wasn’t taking care of himself, and at times wanted to just give up. “I was in a dark place. I wanted to pull back from the spotlight to reassess my whole career. I got sober but it was pretty rough. A couple of years were bad for me.”

Nas and Kelis

Hip hop couple Nas and Kelis are calling a wrap to their marriage after she filed to divorce the hip hop legend.  The filing comes at an unfortunate time since Kelis is seven months pregnant, but as she claims in her divorce papers, Nas has been verbally abusive and cheats on her.  Hopefully, the couple can keep the proceedings civil since there is a child involved and things go smoothly, both in the divorce of the couple’s almost six-year marriage and Kelis’ delivery.

Joaquin Phoenix: One Joke Over the Line?

Joaquin Phoenix At fist, ’s startling announcement, appearance and actions were shocking - suddenly and without warning he grew a bushy beard and said see ya to the industry that made him a star. Upon announcing he would no longer be acting, Phoenix stated that he would now be focusing on his music.

When the media and the fans actually heard him perform, suddenly Phoenix’s act started to become funny. He won laughter when he appeared on Letterman and became a winning Oscar joke thanks to Ben Stiller a few nights later. But now, many think Phoenix is taking things way, way too far.

Did it all just stop being funny?

During a performance at the LIV club in Miami, Phoenix recently jumped off stage to confront an audience member. Reportedly, the rapper/actor had to be dragged back on stage before he was escorted out. The camera crew that’s been almost constantly at the ex-actor’s side, led by , was present. The same crew accompanied Phoenix to his now-infamous Letterman appearance.

Joaquin Phoenix Talks About His Look

Joaquin Phoenix recently made the shocking announcement that he was leaving his film career behind and subsequently began growing a wild, untended beard and letting his brown locks hang long. He also seems to be launching a new career as a rapper.

The actor offered some insight into his new look in .

“It’s been important for me to just do something that’s extreme—that really separates me from that public Joaquin Phoenix persona,” he explained. His look certainly is extreme. But then the actor-turned-something else added, “Maybe I’m just lazy.”

Many have said the Phoenix career switch-up is all a hoax, part of some sort of promotional effort for a documentary which, it’s said, is being created by and Phoenix. A lackluster performance given by Phoenix seems to confirm the rumors. By the way, the video of Phoenix falling off the stage is still being bandied about the Internet.
