Google Uses Algorithms to Determine Employees Likely to Quit

Google logoBecause of the recent losses of Google employees such as engineers, designers and sales executives, the company is using an algorithm to help it determine which of their 20,000 workers would be most likely to quit. Based on information from employee and peer reviews, surveys, and promotion and pay raises, details are sketchy as to details of the formula. While it seems like an interesting idea, we are not sure that math can account for those workers who simply have a bad hair day, go ballistic and split.

Not too long ago we were wondering if was going to be renewed. Now CBS is rewarding the show’s cast members for sticking around.

As a thank you for boosting Monday night’s numbers, the network has just given all five actors - Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan - substantial raises. Their pay bumps, retroactive to the start of the season, amount to approximately 2-3 times their previous salaries. They will now reportedly rake in anywhere between $90,000-$120,000 per episode.

In addition to a larger check, the five will also have a longer stay. Their old seven-year contracts were extended to eight.

Nick TuckLucky for Dr. Christian Troy and Dr. Sean McNamara that the villainous Carver’s reach was unable to get to their bank accounts.  Yesterday, cable network FX announced that in light of record ratings last season, series stars Julian McMahon and Dylan Walsh will both be awarded with substantial raises this year, bringing their total earnings for the upcoming fourth season to close to $1.8 million each.  While the specifics related to the dollar amount have not been confirmed, it’s believed that this increase is almost twice as much as each actor received for the third season, where memorable moments outside of the Carver included the return of Gina, a pregnant Mrs. Santa Claus, ax-wielding Mr. Alderman and a gorilla named Kiki.
