We're sure you've witnessed it in the past. You may have even done it yourself. Even worse, you may still do it. Vertical Video Syndrome, or VVS. Shooting videos on your smartphone vertically used to be a common annoyance that has, thankfully, been on the decline as people realize just how absolutely ridiculous the end result looks when trying to view the content on anything other than the smartphone itself. There are still some stragglers out there though, and if you know any, point them to the video that we've embedded after the break. It should drive the point home. Please, rotate your smartphone.
When Apple announced iCloud a year ago, it was with the intention of making cloud storage, syncing, and services mainstream. Demoting the computer to just another client that can access your centrally stored data. iCloud has been a success, but we know there are still some of you out there clinging on to your MobileMe iDisk storage for dear life. Well, while Apple has allowed you to continue to use the service, it's now coming to an end. MobileMe will shut its doors for good tomorrow, June 30th. You can still migrate your data to iCloud, and you should probably do that. There's no iDisk replacement though, so you might wanna just drag and drop any of that stuff over to Dropbox, which is a free (and awesome) replacement.

Hey, are you looking to pick up the new Samsung Galaxy S III on day one here in the USA? If so, pre-ordering is your best bet, and all four major carriers now have their Galaxy S III pages live and ready to accept your cash, and US Cellular will do the same on June 12th. Here are the links:
Sprint is readying for the release of the HTC EVO 4G LTE, and today it moves a step closer to release. Starting today, you can pre-order yourself an EVO 4G LTE for $199.99 (or you can get it for $149.99 from Wirefly) with two-year contract. If you're not eligible for an upgrade, the cost shoots up to $549. Unfortunately, Sprint's LTE network has yet to go live, so the phone will likely be a 3G affair at launch. Disappointing, but, hey, when LTE is lit up on the Now Network, the phone will be ready on day one. Wirefly says the Ice Cream Sandwich device should ship on May 18th.
Have you fallen on tough times in this rough economy? Well, if so, TiVo wants you to know that they’re here to take care of you, what with their new Netflix compatibility and all. You see, all you have to do is stop going to the movies, get yourself a Netflix account, and watch movies from your Netflix Instant Queue instead. Nevermind the fact that Netflix offers mostly just catalogue titles, as opposed to the latest blockbusters. Beggars can’t be choosers, yo.
We admit that some of us were not big Leo DiCaprio fans, but now that he has created this Voting PSA for declareyourself.com, we have to give him points. Featuring such celebs as Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, Tobey Maguire, Dustin Hoffman and Ashton Kuchter, the online video is aimed at younger voters in an effort to get them to register, with the deadline being this week in some states. Supposedly shot in his backyard in one day, it has already had over 40,000 views. Our kudos to the politically correct actor.
