The unknown Norris has done more than you think

Marguerite Norris/Stanley CupThe NHL is a man’s league. It’s hard to argue that point. If you were asked to name two female NHL players ever, you wouldn’t be able to do it, because there’s only been one, Manon Rheaume, and even that was a pre-season publicity stunt that the Tampa Bay Lightning pulled off for publicity. However, hockey has had its share of women behind the scenes, perhaps none of which are more noteworthy than former president of the Detroit Red Wings, Marguerite Norris.

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Specials, FOX, Gossip,

Barack Obama , President of the United States of America, is scheduled to address the nation on Wednesday. But don’t worry, FOX isn’t going to go changing their programming just on his account. If you’d rather watch Tim Roth, you can still catch Lie to Me in its regular time slot.

It’s a bold move, and it might be a bad one. Obama’s Wednesday news conference will celebrate his first one hundred days as President. It’s the third press conference he’s held while in office, and it will be aired by ABC, CBS and NBC, along with several cable networks.

Barack Obama: The Accessible President

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Television, Videos,

If you didn’t catch him giving out his March Madness picks on ESPN, trading quips on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno or looking appropriately grave during his in-depth 60 Minutes interview, you might have been among the thirty million who watched ’s second press conference.

During the first sixty-odd days of his reign as President of the United States, Obama has been on almost every television channel at least once. You could build a respectable video library with clips of his appearances found on YouTube alone.

We now know that this national leader thinks riding on Air Force One is “cool,” enjoys a game of basketball whenever he can get a chance and hopes to soon take on the health care problems of the country. We know who he’s rooting for in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, that he’s not a great bowler and that he pretty much has his hands full dealing with the AIG bonuses (and their repercussions).

American Idol: Simon Cowell and Barack Obama…So Happy Together?

Barack Obama Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell recently let the beans spill during a routine radio interview: the minds behind hope to receive a visit from President Barack Obama in the near future.

“We’re trying,” Cowell admitted that the show would like to book an appearance from the Head Honcho himself. The acerbic judge also noticed that Obama mentioned his name during the much talked-about appearance on The Tonight Show. Cowell related the moment, saying that “was on the Tonight Show, talking about how everyone in Washington is a critic.” Indeed, it was one of the funnier moments of the interview. “And then he said: ‘unfortunately, they’re all like Simon Cowell.’ I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or not.”

I’m not, either, but there’s no question about whether or not wants to compliment the country’s Commander-in-Chief. The famously hard-to-please judge thinks Obama is “a really cool guy.”

Cool enough to appear on reality TV? We’ll have to wait and see.

George W. Bush Decides to Write a Memoir

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Where Are They Now?,

George W. Bush

, the forty-third president of the United States of America, will put his thoughts to paper in a new memoir. The working title of the book is Decision Points, and the AP is reporting that it should be ready for publication sometime next year.

“I want people to understand the environment in which I was making decisions,” W. said over the phone to Associated Press reporters. “I want people to get a sense of how decisions were made, and I want people to understand the options that were placed before me.”

Bush famously coined the phrase “The Decider,” a title which he gave himself in defense of his War on Terror. Evidently, the book will explain to the public just what being The Decider means - in Bush’s mind, anyway. The memoir will explore a wide range of decisions, including his vice president selection of Dick Chaney.

No financial details on the book have been released.

President Barack Obama Calls for Support

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Specials, ABC, Cable, CBS, FOX, NBC, Video,

, President of the United States of America, held a press conference Monday night. He led the evening with a speech and he primarily wanted to talk about his stimulus package, which is his answer to the current economic crisis. The commander in chief called for support from the Senate and House, who are currently divided on the package. He addressed criticism for the package and openly talked of his plans. But President Obama seemed ill-prepared to talk about anything else.

The President neatly changed topics when asked about a comment made by Vice President and remained somewhat cagey when asked about his foreign policy regarding Iran. He stayed on topic and on point when it came to the country’s current economic crisis, which seems to be his current focus.
