HP Portable Photosmart Printers

HP A630 Printer HP has new printers for those on the go. The Photosmart A530, a generation up from their A526, has a 2.4-inch color display, 27 seconds per photo speed, and a wireless option at a price of $99.00. The A630 features a 4.8-inch touchscreen, a 5x7-inch maximum print size, and keyboard and stylus for creativity at a price of $149.00. The D5460 has a 1.5-inch display, 31 ppm, up to 9,600 x 2,400 dpi color, a 5 ink cartridge bay, and a $164.00 price. The D5460 is available online now, while the other two printers will be out in August.

Amanda Bynes: Friendly With Foxy Guy?

FOX threw a party last night that was filled with flashy celebs and plenty of picture-takers. Some cameras snapped photos of Amanda Bynes (you might recognize her from Hairspray, What a Girl Wants and a ton of other teen-friendly flicks) close at the side of Seth McFarlane. Is this a new couple in the making?

Bynes, 22, was with McFarlane most of the evening and then left with him to go to another party, according to sources. Seth McFarlane is the mind behind popular FOX series Family Guy. He is 34 to Amanda’s 22, making theirs hardly a May-December romance. At best, it’s May-October.

But according to the actress’s rep, the pair are “just friends.” When asked about the obvious coziness between the two, the rep responded “it’s the first I’ve heard of it.” Bynes did work as voice talent for a previous episode of Family Guy.

NASA Announces End Date of Space Shuttle

Cupola NASA has announced that the final flight of their shuttles will be May 31, 2010. It will be carrying spare parts for the ISS. One of the flights before that time will be taking up the 1.8 ton Cupola, a European-built structure that gives astronauts a 360º view of space. Going up December 10, 2009, the space agency believes that this will be an incredible outlet for pictures. Once the shuttle has been retired, European and Japanese ATVs and Russian Progress crafts will be doing all the flying. And there will always be the commercial vehicles for taking billionaires into the final frontier.

The mini-cam clips to your pet’s collar as the built-in timer automatically takes pictures every 1, 5, or 15 minutes. It has a water-resistant ABS housing and comes with a lithium-ion battery, and USB cable and charger. While the gadget is creative, we are not sure we would spend the $44.99 to see images of dust bunnies and ancient crumbs that our cat would find behind the refrigerator.

Scout Guard SG55 Digital Camera

Scout Guard Camera Next time the spy in you rears its ugly head, try using the equally ugly but functional Scout Guard SG55 Digital Camera. At a size of 3.2 x 2 x 5.2-inches, the shots are triggered by any moving animal or human with a PIR motion detector. It will take images up to 3 megapixels with a maximum resolution of 2560x1920 or video clips up to 70 seconds. The infrared cam has a low battery LED indicator, TV out jack and comes with A/V and USB cables and a belt, in case you want to take it with you on your next case. The Scout Guard goes for $299.99.

Transcend T.photo 720 Digital Frame

T.photo Frame Transcend has unveiled their T.photo 720 Digital Frame. The device features a 800 x 480 hi-res 7-inch widescreen TFT display, internal speakers, and can hold up to 2GB internal memory. The T.photo supports JPGs and BMPs and can create video playback. Make custom slideshows with its MyShow function and utilize NaturaTone to enhance color for a more “lifelike” appearance. The AOS (Automatic Orientation Sensor) is the part that we like best. It automatically detects whether to display the image horizontally or vertically. The frame also functions as an alarm clock, MP3 player, and FM tuner with 20 presets.

Polaroid PoGo Inkless Digital Printer

Polaroid has decided that it’s time you “free the photos” with its PoGo inkless digital printer. The pocket-sized device gives you full-color images from your cellie or digital cam with Bluetooth PictBridge. The 2 x 3-inch prints take only about 60 seconds created out of ZINK dye crystals. The PoGo is only 0.93 X 2.83 X 4.72-inches, weighs 8 oz., and comes with a 7.2V rechargeable lithium-ion battery and AC adapter. Look for them in July at Target and Best Buy.

Princeton Tech PPF-OVO Digital Photo Frame

OVO It’s about time somebody came up with a digital photo frame that doesn’t look like a box.The PPF-OVO is an egg-shaped liquid crystal frame from Princeton Tech that doubles as a clock. With a 1.5-inch display, it has a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels with a 2MB memory and a USB 2.0 interface. The 61 x 61 x 81mm OVO can run for about 5 hours on a 2 hour charge and is compatible with Windows Vista/XP. It comes with a rechargeable lithium ion battery in your choice of several colors and carries a price of $38.00.

Sharp CMOS Cam Module RJ63SC100

Sharp has come up with a teeny, tiny 5MP camera with auto-focus which they say is the planet’s smallest. Set to come out en masse in July, we suspect that the CMOS cam module RJ63SC100 will become available on some of their holiday handhelds and other mobile products. Maybe they will lend out the design for spy-stuff which also continues to get smaller and smaller. Then again, perhaps it will inspire other companies to beat the diminutive size so that they can have the smallest.

Facecloud Welcomes All Photo Bugs

You can upload family photos, artsy stuff, or your cat staring into your camera. To kick off the site, they are sponsoring a Spring Photo Contest. Prizes are in real cash: $100.00 for first place, $50.00 for second, and $30.00 for the third place winner. Upload your images through March 31 and they will be judged on the basis of merit and member comments.
