Vampire Diaries Cast Arrested

The CW managed to keep these mug shots under wraps under after their new hit series, The Vampire Diaries, premiered - but only just. Hours after the show created a stir on the network, these photos magically made it to the Internet.

Nina Dobrev, Sara Canning, Candice Accola and Kayla Ewell, all stars of the show, were busted on August 22 along with Tyler Shields (who was taking photos) and Krystal Vayda, an actress who isn’t part of the show’s cast.

Previously Unpublished Marilyn Monroe Photos Discovered

A collection of rarely-seen, unpublished photos of a young Marilyn Monroe has been unearthed by Life magazine. Monroe, 24 at the time the pics were taken, was only on the brink of stardom when photographer Ed Clark captured her beauty for the cameras.

The 1950 shoot contains photos of a fresh-faced young starlet who, at the time, was innocent of Presidential affairs and the staggering lows of multiple divorces. Monroe, who died tragically at age 36, would have been 83 years old today.

The Obama administration has another technological first. All those photos you have been inundated from the “first 100 days” have been posted into the Official White House Photostream on Flickr. Pete Souza, the official White House photographer who shoots with a Canon 5D Mark II, has uploaded over 300 images on the site. We dig the fact that technology is so easily accepted by the utmost powers that be, but what we want to know is why are there only adults in this picture?

Google Similar Images and News Timeline Searches

Google has two new programs in the works. Similar Images uses pictures for searching instead of text. As an example, click on the word “Paris” and you get Ms. Hilton, the Eiffel Tower and a photo of an old church. You then click to search further. Google News Timeline helps localize your search through a chronological history of articles, videos and images that have been arranged by a year, month, week or single date. Search through mags, newspapers, blogs or Wikipedia.

UK Residents Block Google Street View Car

Google Car Many areas in the UK, such as shopping centers and streets, have surveillance cameras. But Broughton residents had had enough and formed a human chain to keep out a car that was shooting for Google Street View. Paul Jacobs noticed the car and got ticked off enough to round up his neighbors to block the road. By the time the police showed up, the car had left the area. This is not the first time Street View has had complaints. Pictures of shelters for battered woman in the U.S. were previously removed.

Sony TG5V Handycam Camcorder

TG5V Handycam Sony has unveiled its Handycam TG5V, an upgrade from their TG1. The new camcorder is smaller at 30 x 117 x 62mm, lighter (230g,) and has 16GB memory with about 6 hours of recording. It also has a 30mm wide angle lens, BIONZ and Exemor image processor, GPS, and a new coating to help keep it scratch-free. The TG5V will become available April 20 in Japan. No details on importing or price has yet to be released.
