Amazon Cloud Drive now syncs between PC, Mac, Kindle, web

Amazon has announced that it's Cloud Drive storage locker is now accessible from PC, Mac, Kindle Fire, and web browser, allowing you to sync your documents across all of your devices with the reliance of Amazon in the background. This puts the Amazon Cloud Drive, which gives users a free 5 GB of storage space, in direct competition with services like Dropbox.

We're excited for the release of the Leap Motion Controller, and although it's missing the promised Q1 release date, Leap has now given us a specific ship date: May 13th for pre-orders, and May 19th for everyone else. Adobe releases flash patch to counter malware attacks on OS X and Windows

A new patch by Adobe Systems fixes the two Flash player vulnerabilities currently under attack. The attacks install malware and targets both Macs and PCs. The targets all seem to be Flash versions for OS X and Windows. The patch, however, is also available for Linux and Android.
The exploits target Safari as well as Firefox, of which the vulnerability is classified as CVE-2013-0634. The vulnerability is also reportedly tricking Windows users into opening Word documents containing the Flash content.
The bug, according to Adobe, was discovered by members of the Shadowserver Foundation, Lockheed Martin's Computer Incident Response Team and MITRE.

Wearing a device to track your steps is nothing new, but the Fitbit Zip looks to be the budget solution that brings users into the connected fitness data world. The verdict is still out as far as if wearing fitness gadgets will make you more fit, but it's hard to argue that it doesn't at least make you more aware. The Zip is the least expensive way to start tracking and syncing your steps, calories burned, distance, and other stats, linking easily to your smartphone to give you a pretty look at all the data. How to hack Wii U GamePad to work as PC controller [Video]

The Wii U is in line for its time in the hacker spotlight, with the Wii U GamePad hacked to work as a simple PC controller. The modder, Chris Manning, learned the GamePad's input by connecting the Wii U browser to a site running a custom script. He was then able to map the GamePad inputs to keyboard functions. While it doesn't support touch screen at the moment, Manning told Kotaku that he plans to integrate it in a future update, as well as attempt to crack GamePad streaming. Consumer Report Picks Windows 7 over Windows 8

Consumer Reports thinks that, for the time being, you're better off sticking with Windows 7 and waiting on Windows 8. The consumer ratings publication provides pros and (mostly) cons of Windows operating systems, and ultimately comes to the conclusion that updating to Windows 8 is not worth the upgrade at its current state. Windows 8 has received mostly lackluster reviews from technology internet sites. Most of them being flummoxed as to what went into the decision-making at Microsoft. Still, according to Microsoft, Windows 8 is selling faster than when Windows 7 launched; but there's a question as to where these numbers came from. Here's an excerpt:

Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro drops in January for $899

If the Surface with Windows RT isnt sporting the power and flexibility you need (check our Microsoft Surface review,) then the Surface with Windows 8 Pro would be more your jam, and Microsoft has finally announced pricing for the beefed up slate. Surface with Windows 8 Pro will be available in early 2013 (read: at least 3 months later than it should have been release) in two configurations: a 64GB standalone version priced at $899 and a 128 GB standalone version priced at $999. Both models will include a Surface pen with Palm Block technology.
