Daniel Radcliffe: Too Mature to Party
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Warner Bros, Celebrity Gossip,
Daniel Radcliffe claims that he is too old for partying.
The 20-year-old star no longer socializes with the rest of the Harry Potter cast and crew because he wants to carve out a career as a respected actor: “I used to play a lot of pranks in the past but I want to be a more mature, serious actor now. I don’t get involved with drinking or partying with the cast anymore.”
The actor also blasted stars who are only interested in fame, insisting he hates being “a celebrity.” He is quoted by Britain’s Daily Star as saying:
“I hate celebrity culture, but I’m unavoidably part of it. These people are celebrities as a by-product of what they do. People read every little thing about Peter Andre and Jordan and I couldn’t care less. They don’t want to work, have no interests, no passions, nothing and yet they seem to be held up on pedestals. I don’t think they should be trying to push themselves onto us. It does annoy me of course, but I’m part of it.”
Daniel’s serious attitude appears to be in contrast to his Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint, who has been spotted at several UK music festivals this summer and makes no secret of his love of wild nights out.

Celebrities’ and Designers’ New York Night Out
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Models, News, Sales, Men, Women,
Cindy Crawford, P. Diddy, and Hugh Jackman are set to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out in New York. A host of Hollywood celebrities and style icons will join forces for an evening of extravagant shopping events, shows, and parties across the US city—let’s hope that the world doesn’t implode when it happens.
The occasion—a celebration of New York being at the forefront of global fashion—has been founded by Vogue magazine, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, tourism group NYC, and Company and the City of New York.
Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour said:
“Little did I think when the idea of Fashion’s Night Out was first dreamed up this past March during the Paris collections that we would have over 700 and counting retailers, designers, and brands joining us on the night of September 10. Of course, I’ve always known the New York fashion industry to rise brilliantly to a challenge, but I am absolutely thrilled, awed, and more than a little proud that it has reacted so brilliantly to this initiative. There is so much planned that we could shop till dawn and still not see and do everything.”

Cinco de Mayo Dinner: Mexican rice recipe
Posted by Jenny Lewis Categories: Dinner, Holiday Cooking, Kitchen Gadgets, Recipes, Grains, Boiling, Parties,
Hopefully you didn’t fill up too much on dips and drinks, because I believe I have a beauty of an entree idea and a gadget that is perfectly matched.
“Make your own…” bars are super fun, and incorporating them into a party is always a hit - everyone gets exactly what they want. And a Cinco de Mayo taco bar couldn’t be more awesome! Get yourself a meat or two, lettuce, sour cream, cheese, radishes, and some leftover guacamole and pico de gallo, set them all out in bowls with a stack of warmed tortillas for soft tacos and a stack of taco shells. And I recently made the life-changing discovery of these taco plates that keep your tacos upright and your ingredients safely inside the shells.
So what’s to serve with the tacos?

Dips for Cinco de Mayo: Chorizo con Queso recipe

Continuing with the dips for Cinco de Mayo, Chorizo con Queso is a classic.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound spicy chorizo
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 small can diced green chiles
- 1 can diced tomatoes, drained
- 1/2 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 cups cheddar
- 1 cup Monterey jack
- 1/4 cup milk (if desired)
Preparation:
Squeeze the chorizo out of its casing and fry on medium in a shallow pan. Once it’s done, remove it with a slotted spoon and set aside to drain, retaining as much of the rendered fat in the pan as possible. Pour the chicken broth into the pan to deglaze it - scrape the browned bits from the bottom. Add the chiles, tomatoes, onion and garlic and heat until bubbling. Add the chorizo back to the pan and stir until well incorporated. Add the cheese and stir until melted. If the dip is too thick for your taste, add the milk. Serve hot with chips or warmed tortillas.
PS - if you’re feeling crazy, you could always deglaze the pan with tequila instead of chicken broth for an extra kick of Mexican flavor.

Dips for Cinco de Mayo: Basic Guacamole recipe
Posted by Jenny Lewis Categories: Appetizers, Side Dishes, Snacks, Holiday Cooking, Recipes, Condiments, Vegetarian,
Dips are a tasty way to get a party started. Today I have three dips for Cinco de Mayo that taste great with veggies, chips, or warmed tortillas. Classic, customizable guacamole is a cool foil to a hot chorizo con queso dip, and pico de gallo is chunkier than a traditional salsa but still packs a ton of flavor. Also, it’s so incredibly simple that once the ingredients are chopped, you’re pretty much done with the entire thing. Let’s start with the guacamole:
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 Tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
Preparation:
Scoop the flesh from the avocados into a bowl. Add the lime juice, salt and cilantro. Mash until creamy.
This is the most basic of recipes for guacamole, and there are plenty of ways to add to it. If you’re feeling a little kicky, add some pico de gallo or a little bit of salsa. Add more cilantro if you feel like it, or don’t add any at all. Maybe sprinkle some cumin on top or add some ancho chiles. The guac possibilities are literally endless.

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Design, Misc. Tech, Science,
Remember how we told you that toys had private lives? This also seems to be true of robots. A couple of our friends, the destructobots, know how to party and stopped by to wish you all a good one. Watch out though, if you pass out too early, they will partake of your Grey Goose. And if you are not paying attention, they will steal your chips and bean dip. (Don’t ask us why, but destructobots love bean dip.) Have a safe and happy New Year!
Paris Hilton and Her New BFF
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Specials, MTV, Editorial,
MTV didn’t pull any punches when it came to the end of their Paris Hilton reality project. First, there was the hour-long reunion show, a spectacle replete with cat fighting and mini-games. Next, there was the drama-infused finale, where Paris was asked to choose a BFF in either Brittany or Vanessa. But wait - there’s more! After the very drawn-out conclusion, MTV aired a 30-minute special showing Hilton’s friends welcoming the new BFF into their midst.
It was two and one-half hours of Paris Hilton’s My New BFF TV. And I watched it all.
