Oasis to Re-Release ‘Definitely Maybe’

Oasis' 'Definitely Maybe'Oasis is re-releasing their debut album Definitely Maybe with previously unheard tracks to celebrate the LP's 20th anniversary.

The band - who split in August 2009 after brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher had a huge backstage bust-up in Paris, France - sent the internet into meltdown yesterday after teasing an announcement at 9:00 am this morning, prompting speculation of a reunion. But instead they revealed plans to bring out a new version of their acclaimed debut record - which will be available from May 19. The anticipation of a possible reunion saw fans crash their official website oasisinet.com.

The re-issue is the first in the Chasing The Sun series from Big Brother Recordings - the brothers' own record label - with "What's the Story (Morning Glory)?" and "Be Here Now" also set to be re-released.

Oasis Will Never Reunite

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Reunions, Alternative, Rock,

OasisOasis will never reunite because they have nothing to achieve. The group split in August 2009 due to the feud between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher and the guitarist thinks there is no point in them getting back together because they could never be bigger than they were at their peak.

"I get asked on a daily basis about a reunion and I say to people, 'To achieve what?' I can understand The Stone Roses because they're bigger now than they ever were. We couldn't be bigger than we were because we were the biggest thing that ever was. What do we do - three nights at [venues] Wembley? Three nights at Heaton Park? Knebworth? We already did it all. Do it again? What's the point?" Noel said.

Noel believes it is more important that Beady Eye - the band formed by Liam and the remaining members of Oasis - should work on living up to the claims they made about their music when they first got together. "They've got things to do, Beady Eye. They've got a lot of graft to do since their singer proclaimed them to be the greatest band in the f***ing world. They need to get a move on with that. I've got no desire to get into a reunion. Not even for starving children," he added.

Liam Gallagher Feeling Confident Post-Oasis

Liam Gallagher

says his songs with his new band are better than before. The 37-year-old singer has been working with every member of Oasis, except brother Noel who quit the group in August, on fresh material and plans to have an album out by July.

He told MTV Italy:

“We’ve been demoing some songs that we’ve had about, that we’ve had for a while. Just doing that, on the quiet, not making a big fuss about it. After Christmas we might go in the studio and record them and hopefully have an album out in July. We’ll do it in a different kind of way now. I’ll try and reconnect with a new band, new songs, and I’m feeling confident about the songs. I’m feeling a million percent confident that they could be better than .”

Jay-Z May Collaborate with Oasis’ Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher

has urged Liam Gallagher to call him about a collaboration after learning hip-hop star Snoop Dogg wants to work with Liam’s brother Noel.

Noel recently quit Oasis following a series of rows with his brother. He also clashed with Jay-Z last year after criticizing the decision to have the rapper headline the Glastonbury music festival.

“I hear Snoop Dogg might be teaming up with Noel. If that’s the case then I would love to work with Liam,” Jay-Z said. “Their music is tight and I think we could blend our styles well. When I teamed up with Linkin Park nobody expected that to work but we made a massive success of it. The same could happen with Liam. When you have two artists like us in a room just throwing about ideas you come up with something brilliant fairly easily. I don’t know what he is up to now but he can give me a call.”

Oasis Split Over Paternity Row

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Break-ups, Meltdowns, Rumors,

Noel and Liam Gallagher of OasisNoel Gallagher reportedly quit because his brother Liam “jokingly suggested” he was not the father of his daughter.

The singer is said to have insinuated that Noel’s nine-year-old daughter Anais was conceived when the songwriter’s former wife Meg Matthews was having an affair. The slur outraged Noel, who branded it “unforgivable” and started screaming at his brother as the pair prepared to go onstage at Paris’ Rock en Seine festival last weekend.

An insider told gossip blogger Perez Hilton: “It was a dumb thing to say. They had a big fight when he made the gag. Noel went for him. He was in a blind fury. And he still hasn’t calmed down.”

The fight reportedly ended when Liam smashed Noel’s guitar while screaming: “You’re no brother of mine!” Noel stormed out of the backstage area and officially quit the band later that night.

Liam Gallagher hates skinny jeans

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Men,

Skinny JeansLiam Gallagher wants someone to kill him if he wears tight jeans. The Oasis singer - whose fashion label Pretty Green launched yesterday - hates the recent trend for men to wear slim-fitting trousers and has no intention of succumbing to it. He said: “I’m not into the skinny look and pointy shoes. They’re just not on - they’re for girls. I have never worn a pair of pointy shoes in my life and I never will. If you ever see me in a pair, drive over me. That and spray-on jeans”. The 36-year-old singer decided to embark on a career as a designer after becoming bored of the clothes men’s shops stock.

Although he admits Pretty Green - which he works on with tailor Nick Holland - with not be a trailblazing label, he is adamant it will be successful. He told Britain’s GQ magazine: “My role is, ‘Right, let’s do a jacket or a coat like this,’ and Nick goes away with my ideas and brings them to life. It’s a long-term project. People might laugh at it and it might not work out, that’s why I am going to be doing clothes that I like rather than making them for someone else. At the very least I will get a wardrobe out of it. And I think people will dig it. It’s not reinventing the wheel - it will be a classic parka or trench coat. Nothing crazy going on.”
