Channing Tatum is producing a reality TV show about a burlesque club.
The Magic Mike hunk will let the cameras roll inside his Saints and Sinners establishment - which he set up with business partner Keith Kurtz in 2012 - in New Orleans, Louisiana, for a new documentary series.
A&E has picked up a pilot episode for the potential one-hour series, which will focus on the entertainers who perform at the club, and Channing, 33, will produce the show through his 33&Out Productions firm along with Original Media. Earlier this year, the actor made his first move into TV production by backing a new sitcom starring his close friend Nick Zano, who has had roles in hit shows such as 90210 and 2 Broke Girls.

Metallica paid tribute to Green Day after replacing them at a festival. The heavy metal group stepped in for the "Oh Love" punk band at the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans, after they cancelled all forthcoming dates due to frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's ongoing rehab.
Two songs into their set, Metallica singer James Hetfield told the crowd: ''We! Are! Green Day! - Except a little taller!" He later added, "You're hoping Green Day are going to show up, right? So am I. They're getting help. They're getting it sorted out. The world needs them." He also dedicated the track "Battery" to the front man, saying: "This one's for Billie."

American Idol 10: New Orleans Auditions
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Video,
The New Orleans auditions of American Idol opened predictably -- meaning, slowly. The show celebrated the city and itself before it got around to featuring any singing. Outtakes and footage of the judges was at last followed by the episode’s first auditioner.
There were few bright spots in New Orleans, though with the kinder panel it’s easier than ever for Idol hopefuls to score that golden ticket that will take them all the way to Hollywood. We’re hearing that the Hollywood Rounds will be longer than ever before, and it’s no wonder why. But there were a few in New Orleans who may manage to become more memorable than your run-of-the-mill Idol hopeful.

Brad Pitt Wants Death Penalty For Oil Spill Executives
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Rants,
Environmentally-conscious Brad Pitt has hinted the executives responsible for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill deserve the death penalty.
The Inglourious Basterds star speaks out against those behind the oil rig explosion in April - which caused the worst environmental disaster in US history with millions of gallons of oil flooding into the sea - in a new documentary If God is Willing and Da Creek Don’t Rise.
“I was never for the death penalty before - I am willing to look at it again,” Brad said of the people responsible for the disaster.
The oil spill, which happened after an explosion on the BP operated Deepwater Horizon rig, resulted in the decimation of wildlife and habitat of marine and coastal animals, as well as loss of livelihood for many fishermen and other people who depend of the area for work. As yet the root cause of the disaster remains unconfirmed.
Brad’s comments are at the end of the documentary, filmed by Spike Lee, about the effects of Hurricane Katrina on the city of New Orleans, Louisiana - the closest major US city to the Deepwater rig - five years after the hurricane devastated the city, leaving 80 per cent of it waterlogged. Brad spearheaded the Make it Right project after the natural disaster, which built 150 affordable and sustainable homes in one of the areas of New Orleans that was worst hit.

VIDEO: Lenny Kravitz’s Impromptu Church Choir Performance

This has got to be one of the coolest things we’ve seen in a while.
A Lewisville, Texas choir recently got a nice surprise during their trip to New Orleans. While performing Lenny Kravitz‘s “Fly Away,” the First Baptist Church members attracted a nice crowd - and an appearance from the artist himself.
Lenny, who just happened to be in the area having a drink, heard the music and simply decided he wanted to join in. Fortunately, the Voice of Praise choir singers realized who he was!

American Idol Lowers Age Requirement, Announces Audition Dates
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol,
A new judge won’t be the only thing American Idol viewers see next year. Younger faces will also come included in Season 10’s package.
When auditions start up in three weeks, singers not even old enough to drive will be dropped off by their parents. That’s right - the contest will now be open to 15-year-olds. (Previous wannabes had to be at least 16 years of age.)
“A lot of young, talented people are now seeking careers and representation before they turn 16,” Idol‘s executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz explained about the rule change. “Lowering the age limit allows us to tap into this talent pool.”
Think you can become the new Justin Bieber? Then check out the audition calendar after the jump.

Sosa Successful In 07 Debut
Posted by Milo Taibi Categories: Athletes, MLB, News,
Jorge Sosa was very impressive on Saturday. He may have been impressive enough to hang around in the Majors. Making his season debut with the New York Mets, Sosa went 6.1 innings, gave up two runs on just four hits, and struck out three. Another important factor to his victory last night were his two walks. Sosa has the stuff to succeed in the majors, but in Spring Training he had severe control issues. The Mets would go on to defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-2, thanks in part to a home run from Shawn Green in the 2nd inning. Green had three RBI’s on the night.
