The folks over at IGN were nice enough to hand us over the trailer for Vin Diesel‘s upcoming action sci-fi thriller, Babylon A.D..
Based upon Maurice Georges Dantec’s French novel Babylon Babies, the film has been on a close watch for movie geeks everywhere since production began. French director Mathieu Kassovitz (Munich) directed the movie, which features a dominantly-French cast, including big-time French actor Gérard Depardieu!
It’s always nice to an actor going back to his or her roots. Honestly, what was he thinking when he signed on to The Pacifier?
You can expect it to hit theaters on August 29. Check out the trailer after the jump!

Olympic Athletes Glow in the Dark

This is what the well-dressed ski bum will be wearing in the future. Presented as part of Munich’s bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics, the LED-lit ski suit was designed by Willy Bogner. Solar-powered, it has an optical output ration of 55 Lumens/Watts. Also featured was the “Private Space Suit” with its flexible LED panel that can go on a jacket or pants with a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours. We hope that Germany has a lot more sun during its winter than we do or the clothing will be merely expensive and gaudy.

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Paramount, Adaptation, Drama, Science Fiction, Sequels, Casting, Rumors, Upcoming Releases,
Just last week we announced intriguing casting news for the upcoming Star Trek film: Eric Bana as the film’s villian, Nero. (I wonder if this was the part Russell Crowe was rumored for.) Now we have more news to whet your appetites. Actor Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) is signed on to play Scotty; John Cho (Harold and Kumar) will take over the role of Sulu. With the exception of James T. Kirk (an actor is supposedly being finalized), most of the characters have now been filled. As a refresher:
- John Cho: Sulu
- Simon Pegg: Scotty
- Eric Bana: Nero
- Zoe Saldana (Haven): Uhura
- Anton Yelchin (Alpha Dog): Chekov
- Zachary Quinto (Heroes): young Spock
- Leonard Nimoy: Spock
Not much is known about the script, though it is believed the movie will depict the Enterprise’s early days. Shooting for the J.J. Abrams film will begin in November.
