LG PC12DAB iDock

LG is launching its PC12DAB iDock with built-in speakers. The gloss black device features red ambient lighting, an integrated slot loading CD player, DAB radio, and audio jack for the iPodless. It will also function as an alarm and can copy music for CDs with its USB port. Equalization controls feature, pop, classical, jazz and flat settings. Available sometime this month for £200 (~$394.00,) we think that a subtle blue would have been much more serene.

CJ7 Dog MP3 Player This wins our award for the ugliest MP3 Player on the planet. The CJ7 Dog Doll has built-in speakers and 1GB flash memory via USB. At a size of 3.19 x 1.34 x 3.35-inches and a weight of 6.98 oz., the creature comes with what the site describes as a “cute dog doll outfit.” Uh huh. No doubt Paris Hilton might find this amusing, but for $18.67, we think we will pass until they come up with one that works without the fru-fru.

Jogging to music is tough if your iPod won’t stay put, so perhaps the Sports MP3 Watch is a viable alternative. Made of rubber, the sweat-resistant timepiece holds 2GB memory, has a bit rate of 32 to 320 Kbps, supports MP3s, WMAs, and WMVs. It also is a RF/FM transmitter, an 2.5mm earphone, is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux, and can download by USB. The watch comes with a built-in Li-ion battery and a price of $40.81.

Castgrabber Downloads Podcasts Without a PC

Download podcasts without a PC with the Castgrabber. Get yourself a network, plug in your iPod, Zune, or other MP3 player via USB cable. The device magically and automatically downloads. We are not sure exactly how that happens although the company says that it is similar to TiVo and that installation is simple when you select through iTunes software or any other Net sites of your choice. It also acts as a recharging dock while it does its thing. We found the Castgrabber at the online Home Depot for $119.95.

iriver D5 Electronic Dictionary

Take a peek at iriver’s business card-sized electronic dictionary. To be released in Japan, the D5 offers a 3-inch LCD display, supports 33 different languages and has up to 16 hours of music or video play time. Pick from black, white, or girly pink, and watch for them if you are globe-hopping this week. A 2GB version is available for ¥39,800 (~$369.00,) while a 4GB version can be had for ¥44,800 (~$415.00.)

iHome iH41 Rotating Alarm Clock

Moving one step past the rotating iCooly iPod touch stand we told you about last week is this iHome Rotating Alarm Clock. The iH41 can be set on its side to watch video and the clock will do likewise. Set the clock to wake to your tunes through EXB speakers and charge your touch at the same time. The device also has battery back-up, a snooze bar and an Aux/MP3 line-in jack for those who are iPodless. Pre-order for $79.00 for a July delivery.

If you drooled at the thought of owning your own Private Ocean, then you might want more water-related accessories such as this USB Starfish Speaker to go with your MP3 player. Sony Rolly Makes it Stateside

Rolly Sony has finally brought Rolly to the States. As you recall, the egg-shaped musical device grooves to the music, includes 2GB of flash memory, has Bluetooth and USB capability, and MP3 and ATRAC music support. Rolly comes preloaded with the theme from “2001 – A Space Odyssey”, Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” and Earth, Wind, & Fire’s “Boogie Wonderland.” Available in black or white, that better be a some incredible choreography for the $399.99 price tag.

orbitsound T3, Music in the Air

The orbitsound T3 is a device that you wear around your neck, plug in your MP3 player, iPod, music phone, PSP, or PMP, and you get what the company calls “music in the air.” Battery powered, it is about the size of a cellie, is portable and lightweight, and features full airSound stereo. We were a bit curious about how it worked and discovered that the gadget “uses your chest cavity as a resonator to reinforce the sound from the unit when worn around your neck.” Uh-huh. We understand it will also work with a PC, TV, or desktop stereo and suspect that this is not an inexpensive gadget, as no price was available. Contact orbitsound for more details.
