The T68HD PMP features a 4.3-inch 800x480 display, supports external memory and has TV-out and FM tuner. It plays 720p HD video and support for RM/RMVB and AVI video files. Choose between 4 and 8GB models. The 8GB carries a price tag of 599 Chinese Yuan ($88.00,) less for the 4GB version.

Netflix Warehouse If you are a Nightline fan, then you probably caught the piece they did about Netflix. They announced that they have delivered their 2 billionth movie. All together they have over 46 million movies available. How do they get all that work done and on time? Workers begin a 3:00 a.m. in the morning. Netflix’s Ted Sarandos was asked if the company will eventually become all download. His response was not for a very long time. You can catch the entire piece via the link.

Blockbuster Access on TiVo

Blockbuster/Tivo logo If you own a TiVo, then you will soon be able to access Blockbuster’s OnDemand service. Compatible with broadband connected TiVo Series2, Series3, TiVo HD and TiVo HD XL DVRs, users will be allowed to rent and buy movies. Both companies will utilize cross-marketing and, as part of the deal, Blockbuster will sell TiVos on their site as well as in their stores. Plans to feature Netflix and Amazon will still continue, so it looks as though this is a win-win-win for TiVo. Expect the new service to begin in the second half of this year. Samsung Movies Open for Business

Samsung is the latest company to try to compete with their new dedicated movie store. Samsung Movies are available to the company’s cell phones, PCs and laptops. About 500 movies and TV shows are in the starting lineup, with an additional 1,000 to be added by the summer. Initially the service will only be available in the UK and Germany. Rentals start at a price of $3.49 while film sales start at $6.99.

iPhone 3.0: Some apps currently incompatible [UPDATED]

We know, there was a lot of excitement surrounding the iPhone 3.0 beta release yesterday, and tons of people rushed to upgrade. However, now we are seeing some of the negatives that are starting to creep up. Sure, the keyboard can be a bit sluggish in some apps, and MMS isn’t working at the moment, whatev on those. What really sucks, though, is the fact that there are some apps that will just flat out refuse to

install. Case in point, the new Fandango app. If you try to install it on your 3.0-enabled iPhone, you’ll get a message telling you that the application isn’t compatible, and that it requires the iPhone 2.2.1 software update. We aren’t feeling that, because we wanna get our Fandango on!

Let us know if you find any other apps that choke on iPhone 3.0.

Update: Looks like the problem here is with installing from the App Store directly on the iPhone. We just tried downloading and installing Fandango using iTunes, and it works swimmingly. Keep that in mind.

Joaquin Phoenix: Just a Nut?

Joaquin Phoenix has been making waves - and scoring parodies - for his new disheveled look and reticent manner. Hollywood buzz has it that Phoenix is doing it all for the sake of a documentary, but one psychiatrist has stepped forward with an entirely different - and not so lighthearted - theory.

Paul Dobransky is a relationships expert and an author. The doctor points to signs of schizophrenia in the actor’s behavior, saying “there is something wrong,” adding, “and it’s beyond drug abuse.” He pointed to Ben Stiller’s Oscar skit (which poked fun at Phoenix and became a highlight of the evening), saying “I was pretty offended by that skit at the Oscars,” in recent comments to the Times. “It struck me as potentially beating down on the mentally ill.”

Now, that’s bold. Susan Patricola, who’s the current publicist for Phoenix, fired back. “How absolutely inappropriate for a doctor who has no personal interaction or relationship with someone to diagnose them. And to do so in a public forum,” she scoffed. Patricola called the comments “astonishingly inappropriate!”

“The jury is not exactly in on what is happening,” Dobransky commented. “Whatever it is, it’s not funny.”

Netflix Reports 2 Million in Queues During Academy Awards

Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos of Netflix says that subscribers added almost 2 million movies to their queues during the 3+ hour Academy Awards. The top movie placed was Slumdog Millionaire, but more than 56,000 different titles were also entered. We can see that happening if you were watching during the show and computing at the same time. Not only would you want those titles, but you would be tempted by every movie made by the actors in the front row.

More Cable Media to Appear on Internet?

Several media companies are considering releasing programming on the Internet for paid subscribers. Such channels as HBO, MTV, Discovery, TLC, and Turner Broadcasting stations are included. Cable TV operators that pay networks a per-subscription fee each month have begun to complain that a lot of that content is free online. President of NBC UTG Jeff Gaspin said that it is important to “find ways to do business that protects that business model.” He added that it would involve a small fee or perhaps be a freebie. Should that be the case, it might mean that you should consider buying a better monitor as opposed to that new HDTV you were considering.

We guess that Samsung and Paramount couldn’t quite coordinate on this one as you have to mail in a redemption card and will receive your MI prize in 4 to 6 weeks. YouTube Testing Pay Per Download Videos

TouTube logo YouTube has begun testing a sub-set of their partners with a charge for download. Most of them are available for about $.99 but only as MP4 files. They can be purchased through Google Checkout. This may put an end to the problems that site has had with studios like Warner. If the program is successful, look for them to allow all of its partners to charge for movies and TV shows on the site.
