Knight Riders’ KITT Replaced
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Action, Drama, Specials, NBC, Announcements,
A TV project months in the making has had a major casting change in the 11th hour.
Will Arnett, the voice of NBC’s new KITT mobile, has had to sever ties from the Knight Rider movie. It seems his vocal cords actually belong elsewhere.
The actor (Blades of Glory) has been doing General Motors voice-over work for some time now. Unfortunately, those who have seen trailers for the ‘80s update know the automobile featured belongs to Ford. GM, finally realizing there may be a conflict of interest, asked the two-timing Arnett to step aside.
Fortunately for the network, another actor has been found to fill the void. Val Kilmer will now be the one heard in the Feb. 17th special. Assuming the movie serves as a new series’ pilot, it’s unclear whether Kilmer would continue on with the role.
As for Arnett, let’s just hope that Arrested Development film happens after all.

Gizmo Makes a New Appearance
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Misc. Tech, Movies, Toys,
Remember Gizmo? Modeled after the 1984 star of the movie “Gremlins,” you can now own one. Give him a little love and he will hum and rock a bit like any good Mogwai does. While we are pretty sure he does not have Howie Mandel’s voice (who did it in the original flick,) he certainly looks lifelike. Just remember not to feed him after midnight or get him wet. Gizmo is 18 x 29 cm, needs 2 AA batteries (included,) and can be yours for DKK 229,00 (~$44.00.)

‘Sex and the City’ Trailer
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Paramount, Romance, Comedy, Trailers, Upcoming Releases,
The Sex and the City movie trailer has finally arrived, and it’s just as promising and exciting as fans could want. It begins with a voice-over and a wide, sweeping view of Manhattan, then quickly falls into an image free-for-all while the theme music blares invitingly. Quick screenshots flash past, showing images inside Carrie’s apartment, the four girls walking together, and a photo shoot where Carrie sports the much-touted wedding dress. As the music ends, the final scene shows a steamy kiss between Carrie and Mr. Big. All of it leads up to the promise that the movie will debut May of 2008.

I’m ready for my close up, Mr.DeMille. After auditioning on MySpace, ten users have been selected to be part of “Faintheart,” a new romantic comedy that will be released next summer. The social networkers selected the actors as well as director Vito Rocco, after half a million viewed his submitted short. If you missed becoming part of the cast, you can still get in on the action and contribute to the script. The completed film should be released in the real world by next summer.

Diddly-Dink is My New Favorite Word
The funniest thing I heard today came from an actor in the movie How to Eat Fried Worms. I was watching this with my two kids while Andru is at Gnomedex literally all day and night. I will be joining him, kids in tow, at the party they are throwing tonight at the Seattle Aquarium where they have giant octopi that suck your brain out quietly while you are none the wiser, or so Nate says. But till then, I had to try and get the two boys to sit still and not argue for at least an hour. It seems that I enjoyed the movie much more than they did...okay now who couldn't with a line like this? Uttered from a preschoolers lips to his older brother--"You're shaking my bike and it's touching my diddly dink!" I have never heard that expression before, I think I will start using it in random conversations as it will go down as one of my favorites. No, I'm not 12.Advertisement
