New blue $100 bill

The newly redesigned $100 bill is set to go into circulation in the US on October 8th, 2013, according to the Federal Reserve Board. The new bill note was first shown off back in 2010, with the design being focused on making the Benjamins more difficult to counterfeit, including a new blue 3D security ribbon and a Liberty Bell that disappears depending on how you hold the note. The new $100 bill was originally slated to go into circulation back in February 2011, but the 2 year and 8 month delay is due to an "unexpected production delay."

Ashton Kutcher Isn’t Worried About Money

Ashton KutcherAshton Kutcher doesn't care if he loses money.

The Two and a Half Men actor has recently invested a lot of cash into a portfolio of start-up technology companies and while he'd like it to be a success, he says his main motivation is making people happy.

"I'm looking for that thing that's so magical or so disruptive that you don't understand how it works. I really think that technology probably has the greatest potential to accelerate happiness of most things in the world. If I don't make money, but what we deliver to people is love and happiness and connectivity and friendship and health, and whatever it is ultimately leads to people's happiness, I'm fine with losing my money."

Ashton also revealed how he looks at his investments as if they're characters he's playing:

Michael Fassbender ‘Seduced’ by Cash

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Features,

Michael FassbenderMichael Fassbender admits he gets "seduced" by money.

The Shame actor has to "keep an eye" on himself to ensure he doesn't get greedy or obsessing about himself and his own brilliance.

There's no point thinking, 'Well my life's certainly worked out, I've got all the answers.' It would be wrong for me to say that I don't get seduced by certain things. That things don't become tempting. Like, you know, money. How much money does one need? Let's start with that, that's a pretty good one. So that, you know. Greed, things like that. Vanity, believing the hype. You have to keep an eye on those things."

Michael believes the best way to stay grounded is to keep a "simple" lifestyle and always associate with the same group of friends: "There's another side of me that's very simple. I keep my lifestyle pretty simple and my possessions are pretty simple. I don't have a very complicated bank balance, but that's not the only thing. How does anyone do it? You make sure you've got a good network of friends, I like to hang around with good people and work with good people."

Video: Why the penny needs to die

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Misc. Tech, Videos,

You know how you have all those pennies stored away somewhere in a jar, or some sort of awkward spot in your car? Of course you do, because no one wastes their time using pennies to make purchases, unless they're clueless or trying to pull some sort of sick joke. Check out the video above, which explains why the penny needs to be abolished from the United States currency, as it's a burden on the economy.

Box Office: Russell Brand Stays on Top

Russell Brand, ArthurUPDATE: Final numbers prove Sunday estimates were wrong. Get the updated -- and accurate -- box office results below.

Even Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman can’t compete with family-friendly Easter-themed animation. Hop has retained its number one box office position, and Portman’s lowbrow comedy flick suffered a dismal opening weekend.

Hop, which cost around $63 million to make, has already earned a cool $68.2 million from box office revenue ($21.7 million this weekend). Thanks to his new comedy flick, Russell Brand is in the top two positions on the box office list for the weekend. Arthur earned $12.6 million to gain the second top slot. His voice is behind the leading bunny in Hop, and Brand plays the title character in the number 2 flick.

Action flick Hanna just barely got pushed into third, earning $12.3 million in its opening weekend. Soul Surfer scored $11.1 million to lock down a fourth place opening. Insidious is still on the top five list (barely) with $9.7 million. Natalie Portman, James Franco and Danny McBride proved to be a dismal box office combination, earning a combined $9.5 with Your Highness to land in sixth place.

UPDATED: Hanna actually earned second place at the box office with $12.4 million. Arthur slid into third place with its $12.2 million box office take.
