Kesha Banned from Malaysia Gig

Kesha has been banned from performing in Malaysia.
The "Tik Tok" hitmaker was forced to cancel her concert Kuala Lumpur stadium tonight, after authorities threatened to imprison her because they decided her gig would harm cultural and religious sensitivities in the Muslim-majority country.
The 26-year-old singer admitted she was extremely disappointed by the decision. She tweeted, "I love my Malaysian animals so so much. xx I tried animals." She later added, "to be clear. I did NOT cancel. I was not allowed to play. and then I was going to play anyways and was threatened with imprisonment. [sic]"
The gig's organizer Livescape said it received a letter about the ban on Friday night, according to CTV News.

Beyonce Knowles Less Sexy in Malaysia

Beyonce Knowles has vowed to wear “appropriate” clothing for her controversial show in Malaysia.
The “Crazy in Love” singer’s scheduled concert in the country’s capital Kuala Lumpur on October 25 has been met with anger by Islamic extremists, who claim her sexy outfits and provocative stage routines are “immoral” and will corrupt young people.
But the 28-year-old star - who had to pull out of a concert in the country two years ago after the same group, the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, threatened to protest at the show - has agreed to tone down her performance, meaning the concert can go ahead. Show organizers Marctensia said all parties had reached an “amicable understanding.”
“We are confident that the concert will once and for all silence international critics and put Malaysia back on track… in presenting A-list international pop concerts in this region,” a spokesperson for the entertainment company added.
In August 2007, Gwen Stefani was told to cover up for her Malaysian concert. The flamboyant star wore “sober” outfits but called it a “major sacrifice.” She put jackets over her tops and leotards underneath her skirts and dresses, to conform to the guidelines for the show.

Our props to Lucky and Flo, two honest-to-goodness DVD-sniffing dogs who received medals after ending a 6 month assignment in Malaysia. The two black labs managed to find 1.6 million illegal movie discs, three DVD replicating machines, and 97 compact disc burners, valued at $6 million. They even went as far as discovering some behind a false wall. Although they cannot tell real from bootleg, their handlers can. The canine cops will be traveling to New York, where they will strut their stuff in the Big Apple. We think the officials should have just given them some kibble and perhaps a copy of “Lady and The Tramp” for their reward.
