This is another example of getting rid of 2 devices when just one will do. Mitsubishi has come out with an Viseo HD LCD screen with a built-in digital tuner, supposedly the first of its kind in Japan. The MDT221WTF has a 21.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a contrast ration of 2000:1. The HDTV also features Diatone sound, 2 HDMI inputs and an analog D-SUB 15 pin input. Look for the price of ¥80,000 (~$800.00) and a November release.

When we see a product like this, it makes us want to scream, “Gimmee!” Sharp’s new LCD TVs, the AQUOS XS1 Series, made their debut at CEATEC 2008 and feature an incredible 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Each HDTV is only 2.28cm thick and has 150% color representation with 450 cd/m2 brightness. Expected in Japan October 15, the 52-inch model will sell for ¥980,000 ($9,256.00,) while the 65-inch TV carries a ¥1,280,000 (~$12,092.00) price.

The SB series features their Spectral Contrast Engine, a 6ms pixel response, full 1080p HD resolution, and PC and HDMI inputs. The LC-52SB55U is 52 1/32-inches with a $2,300.00 price, the LC-46SB54U is 45 63/64-inches for $1,700.00, and the LC-42SB45 is 42 1/64-inches and only $1,4000.00. The first two are out now, while the third will be available in September.

Canon has two new REALiS Professional Projectors. The WUX10 has a WUXGA-resolution (1920 x 1200) and is top of the line. Their REALiS SX80 has a hi-res SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) with PictBride connectivity. Both have LCOS reflective LCD panels for what they say eliminates the “screen door effect” and AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) Optical Engine for higher brightness level and better contrast. Finally, both have 1.5x powered zoom/focus lenses. Look for an October debut with the WUX10 with a whopping MSRP of $12,999.00. The SX80 will be available this month for $3,999.00.
