Modula therapy lamp changes colors via Bluetooth

Okay, we get it, watching colors change on a lamp is supposed to be therapeutic, but aren’t these soothing treatments supposed to get us away from our technology-overtaken lives? Modula doesn’t seem to think so, as their therapy lamp allows you to manually change the colors with a Bluetooth-enabled, device like a mobile phone. Yeah, I don’t know exactly how it works either, but if you want to find out for yourself, feel free to lay down $281 for it. It might be more expensive than a relaxing fish tank, but at least it will have less maintenance.

Math Lamp Requires An IQ

If you’ve graduated beyond elementary math, this wall lamp created by Mingyu Jeung will be happy to turn on for you after you solve a randomly generated equation. If math really isn’t your thing – or you run out of fingers to count on – the integrated chalkboard may be your new best friend (though I wonder how you would see what you were writing…). As far as we can tell, problems appear to be of the simple add/subtract/multiply/divide variety, but a clever prankster would throw in a random calculus problem just to keep you on your toes.

This Mosaic Pixellated piece, designed by &Design, says “the play of light through the myriad cubes has to be seen to be truly appreciated.” We also found this DNA Lamp built by Büro Für Form, perfect for any geek’s lab. Nightlights Are Far Out, Man

If you have always wanted to own one of those plasma lamps or optic displays that are featured at Spencer’s Gifts right next to the lava lamps, they are now available in a nightlight versions. The Plasma Light works just like the original globe created by Nikola Tesla back in the eighties. Not quite as fun to play with as the full size counterparts, for the mini-price of $12.00 each we think it’s just a groovy way to spend some time in the dark.
