Duran Duran

Duran Duran are planning a new album for 2014.

Bassist John Taylor has confirmed the "Ordinary World" rockers - also made up of singer Simon Le Bon, drummer Roger Taylor and keyboardist Nick Rhodes - will be going back into the studio early next year to start working on their 14th studio album, a follow up to 2010's All You Need is Now. "We are going to get back writing another record at the beginning of next year and we are really looking forward to it. I don't think the new album will be finished by next year but we can always hope. We'd like to have a new album for 2014 because it's what we do," he said.

  • Jon & Kate Plus Eight (TLC, 9pm):  Jon & Kate make some life-changing decisions. Well, Kate technically made the decision; Jon just didn’t want to argue.
  • Charm School (VH1, 9pm):  Season premiere. “Former contestants from VH1 reality shows work for charity (and a chance to win $100,000).” No good deed comes without incentives.
  • Make It or Break It (ABC Family, 9pm):  Series premiere. “In this drama focusing on the lives of teen gymnasts who strive to make it to the Olympics, new girl Emily Kmetko begins training alongside veterans who are both impressed with and threatened by her.” This could bring a whole new definition to the term “punch front.”
  • Run’s House (MTV, 10pm):  “The family rallies around JoJo after he’s charged with marijuana possession.” This whole time they had a connection within the home.

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, ABC, Video,

Back in elementary school, John Taylor rocked my world. (Actually Nick Rhodes did, but Taylor wasn’t far behind.) But will the Duran Duran guitarist do the same for ?

In this clip from , Taylor stars as rocker Tommy Wylder, a musician who can still make women in the 30+ age group giddy.

Look for John to appear in the January 12 episode of the ABC comedy.

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

CSI: NY: To celebrate its 100th outing, CSI: NY will be doing it old-school Terminator style. In the sweeps episode, several guest stars - including Rumer Willis, Daughtry and Scott Wolf - will become targets of a serial killer. In the original Terminator, women named Sarah Connor became Arnold Schwarzenegger’s targets. This time around, the suspect is aiming to knock off those named Mac Taylor. (That would be the name of Gary Sinise’s character.) You can expect the star-studded episode to air on November 19.

Corpus Clock Given to CCC

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Misc. Tech, Science, Videos,

We have seen some fairly strange timepieces in our time but this one has really lived up to the description. The Corpus Clock took a team of 8 about 5 years to create and was recently unveiled by Stephen Hawking on the Corpus Christi College campus. Inventor John Taylor said he wanted to “make timekeeping interesting.” The clock’s face is 4 ft. wide and gold plated. The grasshopper (aka Chronophage, which means time eater) atop it munches a minute every 60 seconds. Run by an electric motor, it will supposedly run for 25 years.
