Quote of the Day: Nigel Lythgoe on Idol After Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell

"We've had some incredible country voices -- in truth, Simon would have gotten rid of them straight-away because he wasn't a country fan. This season we have a 16-year-old kid with an incredible voice and a jazz kid who does this fabulous scat-singing. Again, we wouldn't have had him on the show because Simon would have said, 'He's not an American Idol! Get rid of him!' ... What you are definitely going to get this season is an American voice and American music."

-Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe on the benefits of Simon Cowell leaving American Idol.

-Jazz singer Al Jarreau has been moved out of intensive care after receiving treatment to correct a heart arrhythmia. His tour, which was temporarily halted last week, should resume next Tuesday in Germany.

Toilet Tunes Makes Music in Your Bathroom

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Household, Misc. Tech, Music,

Toilet Lid TunesIf you like music while you are spending time in the bathroom, the Toilet Lid Tune automatic system will provide the entertainment. Place the player on the top of your tank, then choose from specific soothing jazz tunes or nature sounds, or let the device pick them at random. At a size of 7 x 5 x 2-inches, the TT plays when the lid is up and automatically shuts off when it is down. Its peel-and-stick plastic sensor is waterproof and washable and the gadget requires 1 C and 3 AAA batteries (not included.) At a price of $29.98, we are not sure this will work with most of the guys we know, but it’s a welcome respite from the worn out copies of People Magazine that we keep in there now.
