Watch every Apple commercial from 1977-2012

Speaking of marketing, watch every Apple commercial from 1977 to present day. There's about 485 commercials, which includes the famous Mac vs PC, the technicolored hipster iPod dance ads and, of course, the iconic 1984 Macintosh SuperBowl spot directed by Sir Ridley Scott. One of my favorites, the first iPhone ad 'Surprised' from 2007.

Guest Post: On the storage capabilities of the iPod touch

iPod touch

The following article is brought to you, and sponsored, by Argos:

The iPod Touch from Apple comes with various storage capacities. An 8GB iPod Touch will store 1750 songs, 10,000 photos or 10 hours of videos. A 32GB iPod will store 7000 songs, 40,000 photos or 40 hours of video. A 64GB iPod Touch will store 14,000 songs, 90,000 photos or 80 hours of video. These storage details are obviously based on if you were to completely fill your iPod with just music, or just videos, etc. The 5th generation iPod Touch is available with either 32GB or 64GB storage capacity, and these storage details still apply.

iPod touch (5th generation) and iPod nano (7th generation) now shipping

iPod touch 5th generation now available

Apple's fifth-generation iPod touch and seventh-generation iPod nano are arriving on doorsteps and Apple Store locations today. Originally announced alongside the iPhone 5 last month, the new touch and nano didn't see the near-immediate availability that the iPhone 5 enjoyed. The new iPod touch features the same, larger 4-inch display that you'd find on the iPhone 5, and is available in a multitude of colors. Same goes for the iPod nano on the color front, and it also picks up a more traditional tall-screen layout as well. The new iPod touch starts at $299, while the new iPod nano can be had for $149.

Apple to update all iOS devices, including the iPad, with new dock connector next month

Mini dock connector

Last month iMore reported that Apple was set to unveil the next-generation iPhone and smaller 7.85-inch iPad during a media event to be held on September 12. Now, the site is also reporting that we will likely see a refresh of the entire iOS line at the event.

The report goes on to say that the reason for the mass refresh is to bring the new, smaller dock connector to all iOS devices. This would include the new iPhone 5, updated iPod touch, new iPod nano, the 7.85-inch iPad mini, and even an updated version of the third-generation iPad.

If true, this would mark the first time that Apple has deviated from the spring release and refresh date for the iPad, however, with the introduction of a new dock connector, we can see a minor update reflecting that change in order to bring on fast adoption of the updated standard.
