Will the Real Will Ferrell Please Start Tweeting?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Rumors,
“There are at least four fake Will Ferrell pages, none of which are actually him.” With these words, Ferrell’s publicist put a halt to the rumors that the comedian is behind several tongue-in-cheek jabs recently aimed at Paramount through Twitter, the popular micro-blogging site.
Ever since the studio put the nix on the planned Anchorman 2 project, certain gems such as “To all who are upset about us not green lighting Anchorman 2, we at Paramount say screw you! We have more reboots to fund instead!” and “To all writers looking to pitch any original movie ideas to us, please submit them to the nearest garbage can in your vicinity,” have surfaced on Twitter. But the rumors that Will Ferrell created them are, we’re told, not true.
According to Ferrell publicist Matt Laboy, “Will Ferrell himself does not have a Twitter page, not does he have anything to do with this Paramount page in any way, shape or form.” According to an interview with Ferrell conducted last year, the actor was scared away from Twitter when fans criticized his Tweets for not being funny enough. If Will Ferrell had created any Tweets to sucker-punch Paramount, he probably would have done it as George W. Bush.

Idol Fanatic is making it possible for you to vote for your favorite American Idol 9 contestant via Facebook. Each week, followers will have the opportunity to use five votes, though more can be earned if you invite friends to join the group.
The application is more or less a work in progress. Reports say that it works, but whether or not FOX will allow it to go live is a big question mark. In the past, producers have carefully controlled voting methods on the series.

Quote of the Day: Miley Cyrus Bashes the Internet
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Music, Television,
“I just think it’s kind of lame. I feel like I hang out with my friends and they’re so busy taking pictures of what they’re doing and putting them on Facebook that they’re not really enjoying what they’re doing. You’re going to look back and have a million pictures, but you’re not going to be in any of them. Because you’re not having fun, you’re too busy clicking away. So I think just enjoy the moment you’re in, and stop telling people about it. Just enjoy it… I’m telling kids, don’t go on the internet, it’s dangerous, it’s not fun, it wastes your life, and you should be outside playing sports or something.”
-Former Twitter user Miley Cyrus explaining why her fans can no longer read her tweets. (As long as she spares us from her lame YouTube videos, I don’t care what she says about the internet.)

Google: China Hackers Stole Valuable Source Code
Posted by Finnian Durkan Categories: Google, Internet,
According to McAffee CTO George Kurtz the cyber-attacks that occurred in January targed a small number of employees who controlled source code management systems. These source code management systems handle the myriad changes that developers make as they write software, the breach of which can have a cascade effect across multiple levels of Google and as many as 30 other business targeted in the January attacks. Aside from being awesome and using ‘cyber-attack’ in a sentence, I also have some valuable source-code for sale at rock-bottom prices; check out my store at ‘CyberNinjaAssassinCassanova138’ on eBay.

Ben Affleck’s Got Mail
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Hook-ups,
Want to know Ben Affleck‘s secret to wooing women like Jennifer Garner? Email!
The Juno actress - who married her actor husband in June 2005 - has admits the Hollywood heartthrob won her over through the internet because he has such a good way with words.
“It helped that we were both single at the time. He’s a very good writer.”
When asked if he wrote her love letters, she said, “Don’t make assumptions. I didn’t say that! Okay… e-mail. He’s a very persuasive writer.”
The 37-year-old beauty - who is previously divorced from actor Scott Foley - said the secret to their relationship was that they were friends before, and knew how to be “goofy” with one another. She added to Parade magazine, “Ben is sexy and kind, but he’s also a riot. We can be very goofy together. He doesn’t have trouble wiggling his way in anywhere. Ben is charm personified when he wants to be. He’s not easily threatened or made uncomfortable - he’s very secure in that way. Maybe he just knows I’m nuts about him, and he doesn’t have anything to worry about. Don’t forget we were friends first for a long time.”

The CW’s new fall season looked very promising - at first. After some seriously low ratings, the network decided to make a few big changes. The Beautiful Life Lives Again on YouTube
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Internet,
The season’s very first canceled program is now getting a second life…on the internet.
The Beautiful Life - featuring Mischa Barton, Sara Paxton and Elle McPherson - was only able to air two episodes before it was yanked by the CW. That left three finished hours sitting on the shelves.
Not wanting to waste what he helped produce, Ashton Kutcher has announced that the remaining segments will be available via YouTube. As of today, the first three weeks have been posted. The last two will debut on Monday.
“What we feel like we’re doing is creating, in some ways, an industry first,” Kutcher told Reuters. “A show that couldn’t find its legs on television, we believe can find its legs on the Web.”
Thanks to a partnership with Hewlett-Packard, all episodes will air commercial-free.

Google Public DNS aims to speed up your surfing
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Google, Internet,
Google is aiming to continue their attempt at speeding up the Internet with the introduction of Google Public DNS. What’s it do? Well, basically, they are promising faster DNS lookups than your ISP. According to Google, they aren’t going to hang on to the data, and the data doesn’t get associated with your Google account in any way. They will just keep data for two days, and use it to study how to speed up DNS across the board. If you wanna take the plunge, set the DNS on your computer or router to the following Google Public DNS IP addresses: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
