CES 2008 Video: First Pre-Show Daily Wrap-up - Our Expectations
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Full Episodes, Gizmatic, CES, CES 2008, Features, GPS, HDTV, Home Entertainment, Podcasts, Video Games, Videocasts, Wireless / WiFi
Alright, so we arrived here in Las Vegas for CES 2008 late last night, and figured we’d record our first video from one of our hotel rooms. I mean, why not, right? We talk about what we expect and hope to see at this year’s show, and even equate different historical hairstyles to where we see the industry going in 2008. Yeah, we really needed to get some sleep before doing this - but hey, what’s the fun in that?
Oh, and Brenda made that hat on the plane trip over.

That’s right peeps - the Gear Live crew has touched down in Vegas, and we are ready to rock this year’s CES out. We have our two video crews ready to hit the events, along with a few of our standard writers as well. I’m talking about Andru, Sparky, Jenny, Lolita, and Chris. We are supported by our fantastic video crew which includes hacker extraordinaire Nate True, along with Jesse and Brenda Ferguson.
So, what do you want to see? We are going to be hitting the big parties, the major (and minor) booths, and everything in between in our attempt to bring you the amazing and obscure sights and sounds on CES 2008.
Bleeding Edge TV 181: PAX 2007 Wrap-Up with Gear Live and GamerAndy
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Full Episodes, High Score, Features, Podcasts, Video Games, Videocasts
Gear Live and GamerAndy are back, bringing you their final thoughts from PAX 2007, this time bringing Bobby Blackwolf along for the ride. We go over all the things we were impressed with at PAX, along with the things that left a bad taste in our mouths. We get into a deep discussion on how even hardcore games are starting to cater to the casual gamer, and how it seems that it isn’t necessarily a good thing. Did you know that you can do almost everything in Assassin’s Creed just by pushing forward on the analog stick? Where is the skill in that? If you missed the 2007 Penny Arcade Expo and love video games, this is one to watch.
Want To Write for Gear Live? Here’s Your Chance!
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Announcements

Okay, we get it - we suck. You read Gear Live daily, and constantly say to yourself “I could so have written that story better.” Okay hot shot, now’s your chance. Gear Live is looking to bring in a couple more writers who know their stuff as it pertains to gadgets, television, movies, and sports. You need not be a professional journalist to apply, but you should be able to write like one. What do we mean? Well, for starters, you have to have a strong command of the written English language. You also need to be passionate about the subject matter at hand. If you think you fit the bill, we want to hear from you.
Drop us an email at gigs[at]gearlive.com, and provide three sample posts written in the Gear Live style. These need to be original and timely, not something you wrote for the school paper a few years back. Also let us know why we should pick you, and what you can commit to. This is a paid gig, so we are looking for the best.
Oh, and yes, that is a new logo. Look for our redesign, coming soon.

Keith Renty of IOGEAR gives us the low down on their Nano Shield technology. This coating lasts for a couple of years and kills all bacteria on your keyboard or mouse. This is aimed at the healthcare and education industry - but if you are a hypochondriac, it works for you as well.

Gear Live’s Andru Edwards and I4U CES reporter Nikki Inderlied engaged in a dual interview at the BlogHaus, courtesy of PodTech. After a couple of minutes of senseless banter, the two went one-on-one in Gears of War, where Andru quickly learned that girls really can kick your ass…or, at least, Andru’s ass.

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Full Episodes, Gizmatic, Announcements, CES, CES 2007, Features, Movies, Videocasts
Here at The Bleeding Edge, there are some issues that we normally just gloss over for the sake of our reputation. What you don’t know is that Andru Edwards is a very controlling, true gadget freak who can’t move past that issue, Sparky actually knows nothing about technology and is just full of himself, Nate True sucks at fiming our show, and Jesse Ferguson has to fix everything, and is just insanely uptight. Now, it has all been revealed. Check out this episode of The Bleeding Edge, where we go behind the scenes to meet everyone who makes the show happen.
