Bleeding Edge TV 493: SCOTTeVEST Tropiformer Review

In this episode I review the SCOTTeVEST Tropiformer Jacket, a collaboration between SCOTTeVEST and ThinkGeek, and we think it holds up great for multi-seasonal travel. SCOTTeVEST is known for making Technology Enabled Clothing that allows you to carry pretty much all of your gadgets, including tablets and even a laptop if you want to, right in your jacket, thanks to the myriad of pockets they include in their garments. In the case of the Tropiformer, that's 22 pockets, including a pocket specifically for your smartphone that allows you to use the phone right through the pocket. The sleeves on the Tropiformer are also easily removed and replaced, thanks to an ingenious magnet system.

Unboxing Live 122: TiVo Roamio Pro

TiVo has released it's new Series5 DVRs in the Roamio line, and in this episode we open up the TiVo Roamio Pro! The Roamio Pro sports 6 tuners, allowing it to record up to 6 HD shows at a time, and has a 3TB hard drive, allowing it to store up to 450 hours of HD content. Even better? The new Roamio Plus and Pro both have TiVo Stream capabilities built right in, allowing you to watch your recordings on your iOS device, and soon, Android as well.
TiVo also redesigned the look and feel of the DVRs, as well as adding a bunch of color to the packaging. We give you a look at it all, as well as the new TiVo RF remote control.

Okay, we get it. You read Gear Live daily, and constantly say to yourself “I could so have written that story better.” Okay hot shot, now’s your chance. Gear Live is looking to bring in a couple more writers who know their stuff as it pertains to gadgets, video games, and social networks (like Twitter and Facebook.) You need not be a professional journalist to apply, but you should be able to write like one. What do we mean? Well, for starters, you have to have a strong command of the written English language. You also need to be passionate about the subject matter at hand. If you think you fit the bill, we want to hear from you. We are looking for writers, as well as editors.
Drop us an email at gigs[at]gearlive.com, and provide three sample posts written in the Gear Live style. These need to be original and timely, not something you wrote for the school paper a few years back. Also let us know why we should pick you, and what you can commit to. This is a paid gig, so bring your A-game.

Apple's iPad Air is the thinnest, lightest, and sveltest full-sized tablet from Apple yet. We open up the new iPad Air at the Apple Store at Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, Washington, giving you a look at the new thin tablet, along with the other things included in the box (in this case, just the iPad Air AC adapter and a Lightning cable.) Apple's iPhone 5s is the first flagship smartphone from the company to ship in three different colors - silver, gold, and space gray. Two of the colors are new for the iPhone 5s, with Apple doing away with the black & slate model, and adding the golden hue to the lineup. There have been severe supply constraints of the new model, but we were lucky enough to get our hands on them on day one. In this episode, ee head to the Apple Store at Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, Washington to be one of the first to get our hands on the iPhone 5s, and we unbox it in store to give you a look inside the box! If you're unfamiliar, VidCon is an annual conference where YouTube stars attend to give sessions and meet up with their viewers and fans.
