VIDEO: What The Wire Would Look Like as a Musical
As if one's love for The Wire couldn't be any greater, Funny or Die -- a comedy site founded by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay -- went and created this.
Sonja Sohn, Andre Royo, Larry Gillard Jr., Felicia "Snoop" Pearson, and Michael Kenneth Williams reprise their roles from the critically-acclaimed HBO series in this hilarious trailer for the imaginary musical. The trailer recreates a few of the show's most famous scenes -- with a lot more singing, dancing, and smiling.
I dare you not to get "Chess is a Metaphor for Drugs" stuck in your head this week.

Weekend Reading: The Damned, Apes, Simpsons and Tex Avery
Posted by Tom Mason Categories: Editorials, Reviews, Television, Independent,
Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, power outages. It's been a wild couple of climate change-enhanced weeks. Let's play catch-up across the internets:
Cullen Bunn is having a career year and let’s hope it’s the first of many. The creator of The Sixth Gun got his Oni Press series, The Damned, picked up by Showtime for a series. He’s already gotten The Sixth Gun optioned to SyFy for a series. If they both make it to air, Bunn will have two more shows on the air than DC Comics.
Apes: Rich Handley reviews the fourth issue of Darryl Gregory and Carlos Magno’s Planet Of The Apes, from Boom! “BOOM!’s Apes run stands on a pinnacle, one sure to end badly for humanity.” But all good for readers and fans.
Republicans: My pal Doug Molitor from Funny Or Die looks at 12 Republican super-heroes. My favorite? The Human Torturer!
Jack: Man, that’s a lot of nice Jack Davis work that Michael Sporn posted. I really love those western covers, too.

See, Charlie Sheen is getting some work. In-between interviews and Web rants, the recently-fired actor managed to perform this skit for Funny or Die. Now, Sheen fans can learn a few of the ingredients it takes to be a winner just like him.
As he says, “If you eat like me, you can be like me.” Sheen certainly has an interesting take on what it means to be a winner, a philosophy that extends to his food. “I don’t cook food, I will it,” he explains in the video.
But, we caution you to take care if attempting to repeat any of Sheen’s cooking steps. As the actor points out, “The taste of Charlie Sheen has the potential to make your soul weep.”
It can get a TV show canceled, too.

Chilling until the next episode of Glee is now much, much easier -- and we’ve got Heather Morris to thank.
The blonde Glee star helped write an uproarious new skit for Funny or Die set to the delicate strains of Snoop Dogg’s “Nuthin’ But a G Thang.” That’s right Gleeks … it’s Nuthin’ But a Glee Thang.
Naya Rivera, Matthew Morrison, Cory Monteith and Harry Shum, Jr. helped out, lending their smooth dance moves to this fantastic all-female rap led by Heather Morris. In the opening scene, Modern Family's Sofia Vergara reminds us that she's not just hot, but hilarious -- all while wearing a Sue Sylvester-style tracksuit.

We’re big fans of the way that Apple has been pushing the FaceTime feature on the iPhone 4 commercials, but to be honest, we’ve never actually been able to partake in a FaceTime convo that was as touching as Apple makes them look. We think the video above is a more accurate depiction of what to expect!
