Whatever the reason, free is free. You need a TiVo Series 2 or 3 or Amazon’s Unbox Video Player. The Amazon download process is simple but will only work with Windows XP SP2/Vista. The show is also available through iTunes and HBO’s site.

NBC Direct Allows Free Downloading

NBC logoNBC has announced that their new service, NBC Direct, allows users to download many primetime and late-night shows up to one week after airing. Beta testing will begin in October and includes shows such as “Heroes,” “The Office,” “Life,” “Bionic Woman,” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” In the future, the company will be offering a free subscription option for pre-selection of specific programs. The DRM downloads will work on PCs, Macs, as well as other handhelds. This is good news to those of us who still watch analog TV, but not so good for those with outdated computers who may not be able to handle the overload.
