Sanyo eneloop Lamps

Sanyo, parent of the Eneloop brand batteries, has come up with a lamp powered by 2 AA eneloop batteries (naturally.) The ENL-Y1S(W) can be used as a bedside table lamp with either white or blue light. It also doubles as a flashlight. The lamp will run for up to 35 hours shining white light, or 16 hours with blue light, depending upon brightness. Included in the ¥15,000 (~$156.00) price is a non-metallic contactless charging stand.

Wicked Lasers Torch Spits Real Fire…Almost

Wicked Lasers has put out some interesting products in the past (just check out our Blue Spyder II laser video,) but their Torch is way beyond utile. With 4100 lumens, it takes the Guinness cake as the most powerful flashlight in existence. Adjustable with a high-efficiency relector, it is encased in aerospace-grade aluminum. At a size of 57 x 230 mmm, the device does literally what it is called as you can see in the video. The light will work for up to 15 minutes on a battery charge. Frequent campers and pyromaniacs can find them for $299.99.

Castlight Turns on Two Ways

We have found that during a power outage, we have as much trouble finding a working flashlight as we do rounding up stray candles to find the flashlight. David Weeks of Kikkerland has designed a combo candle holder for almost any emergency. At a size of 11 4 x 4.5 x 4.5-inches, the bottom of the Castlight features an LED flashlight that uses 3AA batteries. Available in moss, stone, and brick colors, its cost is $40.00. Perhaps now all we will have to do is use this to find the extra batteries in the dark.

Tiny Capsuli Emits Bright Light

Capsuli The Capsuli is an LED Emergency Kit designed by Ukseop Jeong and Hanna Son. The capsules are palmsize and emit light with a simple twist. They are housed on a pad containing solar cells, so there is no worry about running out of batteries in the middle of a hurricane. Only a prototype, we hope that this will eventually become a staple of home and car first aid kits, since we never seem able to keep flashlights working when we really need them.
