Feedback About IE8

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Internet, Microsoft

IE logoThere is already lots of feedback on Microsoft comments pages after the launch of IE8, with some it negative, from disappearing images, printing on Web sites and searching issues. One user complained about dragging Facebook applications and photos while others complained about the install. On a positive note, one user said it “felt like Firefox, but hey, it’s functional.” We also found that IE8’s release really hasn’t affected Firefox as their users are eagerly awaiting 3.0.

The Freelancer’s Toolset

Posted by Jenny Lewis Categories: Internet, Misc. Tech

While perusing del.icio.us bookmarks over the holiday, I came across technology and productivity blog Codswallop’s fantastic Freelancer’s Toolset.  Yoav Ezer posted this list of 100 tools for freelancers back in May, and barring a few recent developments in the web app universe, it’s exhaustive and incredibly helpful.  With apps covering organization, calendaring and to-do’s, money, storage, project management and productivity, writing and design, security and privacy, mobility and contact, marketing and networking, business and legal, contact and feedback, website tools, printing and packaging, revenue building and giving, and more - just about anything that a freelancer can use on the web to further their business can be found on this list.

Fallout 3 Developers Ready to Answer Your Questions

Fallout 3After an avalanche of press following its showing at E3, is now soliciting questions from the community. In theory they’ll accept and answer questions about any of their properties but it seems pretty obvious from the comments so far that the main point of interest is Fallout 3.

With so much skepticism from the old school Fallout fans over the direction Bethesda is headed and the casual dismissal of those concerns that most of the mainstream gaming press has displayed, this could be a good chance for the developers to clarify some of the hows and whys diehards have been losing sleep over since the game was announced.

Get Your Feedback Heard On Xbox 360 UI

Xbox 360 Marketplace

Microsoft User Experience Lead “Wildchicken” has a post going over at his blog where users can submit feedback on the Xbox 360 UI. There’s no guarantee that any of the suggestions will actually make it into the next version of the Xbox 360 dashboard, but one can always hope. Certainly having a better UI for file management would help a lot. Another good suggestion made was having the Dashboard show what game disc is in the drive, as well. More interactive and more detailed friend management would be nice, expanding the download blade to show more information about file downloads would also be a welcome feature. Hopefully, some of these suggestions will make it into a future release of the Dashboard, so the UI can become much more usable.
