Live Autographs Get a Celeb to Do You a Favor

Tricia HelferA new start-up is promoting personalized video messages from your fave celeb. At Live Autographs you tell him/her what you would like to ask or say to another as a gift. You receive a video, autographed memorabilia verified by a security-encrypted barcode and a free video download. Prices start at $149 from participants like William Shatner, Dave Navarro, Hulk Hogan, Tricia Helfer and many of the cast of “Lost.” You had better be quick about it though, as they reach a certain limit and sell out. We think Captain Kirk is the first casualty as we tested the system and were denied his services.

Iron Man: Warmonger or American Hero?

Posted by David Torres Categories: Editorials, Movies, Marvel Comics

IronMan

I finally got Iron Man on DVD the other day.  Whenever I get a DVD of a comic book movie I ALWAYS get the double disc set because of the extras.  I saw when I was ordering it online that this DVD had a history of the character in comics.  I love comics and I love history so this was a win-win situation.

So I sat down one night and began watching the extras first before I even watched the film.  I saw the film in the theater, so I could wait until I saw the extras first.

Best Buy Insignia Blu-ray Player Drops Price

Insignia Blu-ray Player

Best Buy is selling its Insignia Blu-ray Player for very little funds. The NS-BRDVD features Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD support, has a built-in SD card slot, and upconverts standard DVDs to 1080p. After a $30.00 rebate, the player will set you back only $199.99 and the company is throwing in a coupon book good for $100.00 off select Blue-ray movies. It is available both online and in their stores. Our first impression is to go to the store and compare it with another using the same TV, but we don’t really want to spoil the inexpensive moment.

ViewSonic N2201w LCD Wtih Built-in DVD Player

ViewSonic LCD

ViewSonic’s N2201w LCD has PC monitor capabilities and a built-in DVD player. With 1080i HD and a resolution of 1680x1050, the 22-inch screen has a response time of 5ms and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. Compatible with ATSC/NTSC/QAM digital TV, it has HDMI 1.3 and composite inputs. The N2201w is available for $429.00. While we like the idea of combining components, we know from experience that if you buy something that combines them, half of it will break down before the other and getting it fixed will be expensive and a pain.
