Engineer Creates iPhone Dog Treat Feeder
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Design, Handhelds, Videos,
Stephen Cooper, a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida, decided to take a CD spindle and an ioBridge, a smart board that requires very little skill and will set up an online interface page for you. Ninety minutes later he came up with a way to feed his pup Cooper remotely from his iPhone. Stephen explains on his site how you can make a similar gadget. We guess that his dog was happy once he got the hang of it, but we bet he would rather have had the 90 minutes with his best friend.

Mr. P Doglamp
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Smart Home, Misc. Tech,
Fans of Mr. P will be pleased to know that there is a Doglamp to accompany him. Made of metal and plastic, the pup’s head can be adjusted vertically for reading or general lighting. The lamp can be dimmed in low, medium, or bright by giving him a pat on the head. At a size of 30 x 43.3 x 43.8cm and a weight of 1.5k, it uses a maximum of a 40W bulb (one clear one included.) The Doglamp also comes with a UK plug and has a price of 99.90€ (~$140.00.)

Lily Allen Needs a Leash For Her Dog!
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Music, Style, Charity, Kind Acts, Meltdowns, Where Are They Now?,
Seemingly back on track with her new, tamed brunette hair color, British pop singer Lily Allen can’t seem to do everything right just yet! It seems as if the troubled tabloid target completely forgot to grab her dog leash when she went out the other day.
While I’m glad that Lily has advocated adoption at local shelters, I still don’t see why she would ever forget her poor dog’s leash—look at the dog’s poor face!
Maybe Lily simply forgot that despite her new ‘do, we’re still keeping a close watch on her. As if that awards incident wasn’t a mere month ago…

All Dogs Go To Ellen: An Opinion
Posted by David Onda Categories: Comedy, Daytime, Talk Shows, Syndication, Editorial, Features, News,
When I first started writing this, I had every intention of trashing Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show meltdown from earlier this week. My thoughts on the subject have, however, changed somewhat. Despite this, I do still feel that Ellen’s sob story during the opening moments of her daytime talk show were ridiculous. To tell your audience that you can’t be funny and do your show as usual because “things are going so terribly wrong right now” seems to be a little - er - melodramatic. This isn’t the week following September 11, 2001. There hasn’t been some horrible death in your family. You haven’t been stricken with an incurable illness - deal with it. More horrible things have happened.
With that said, I move on with my thoughts.
