Apple discontinues the iPhone 3GS, moves iPhone 4 into free spot

iPhone 3GS discontinued

The iPhone 3GS is no more. With the announcement of the iPhone 5 came the information that the iPhone 4S would move down the line and sell for $99 with two-year contract, while the iPhone 4 takes the spot previously held by the 3GS, making it free with two-year contract. Don't count the 3GS out just yet though, as its final trick will occur on September 19, when iOS 6 is released with support for the discontinued smartphone.

17-inch MacBook Pro discontinued by Apple

Apple released a refreshed line of 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pro notebooks durings its WWDC 2012 keynote this morning, sporting brand new Ivy Bridge processors. Additionally, the beautiful new 15.4-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display was revealed as well. One thing Phil Schiller didn't divulge from the stage was that the company has discontinued the 17-inch MacBook Pro model. From here on out, at least for the forseeable future, it's all about 13- and 15-inch notebooks if you're rocking a MacBook Pro notebook.


Dell Discontinues Digital Audio Player Line

Dell DJWell, despite the clever advertising, it looks like Dell has finally finished selling the last of their Ditty MP3 players. In fact, it appears that Dell’s promise to get out of the DAP market earlier this year has come to fruition, as they simply decided to stop making their own branded MP3 players, and have instead opted to resell players from the likes of Creative, SanDisk, Samsung, iRiver, and Archos. Notice anyone missing from that list? Apparently Dell isn’t into the whole “help the competition make a profit” thang…
