Nokia Releases New Prism

Nokia 7900 Prism

With new phones coming out every time we blink, we found one that we really appreciate for its looks. (Vain, aren’t we?) Collaborating with France’s Frédérique Daubal, Nokia’s 7900 joins its Prism Collection with an aluminum back and crystal key in the center, surrounded by diamond-cut patterns. It has 1 GB memory, an OLED display, a 2 megapixel cam, and comes in a choice of 49 key pad colors. Vanity does not come cheaply. The phone has a MSRP of ~$544.00. Contact Nokia for details.

CES 2008: golla, for Those Who Have

golla bagnike sock

We don’t often indulge in designer goods, but this is the CES and we want to be fair. The website alone was so impressive that we just had to mention it. First off, Finland’s golla bags are a “collection, ” not an assortment, that changes bi-annually. They describe themselves as a blend of “lifestyle, fashion, and technology.”  We didn’t check, but we are pretty sure Paris must have one of their mobile, musical, digi, laptop bags and sleeves, or backbags. Look at this! It’s a cotton, polyester, spandex sock! Finally, don’t even hunt around the site for a price. Once again, if you have to ask… By the way, ever since someone stole our flipVideo cover, we have been using an old Nike sock to carry it around. Price: $00.00. Usefulness: priceless.

Panda Chair

Next time you receive those useless CDs from AOL, do what Spanish Designer Belen Hermosa did with his Panda Chair. It was recently unveiled at the International Furniture Fair in Valencia.  We’re not sure about the comfort factor, but the idea is a viable one. If you score enough of the useless discs, you could probably build an entire living room suite, including end tables and ottomans. Then you could recover your patio deck, build furniture for the kids’ treehouse, and start selling items at swap meets. Just you wait, IKEA, you have tentative competition.

Don’t Eat the Wallpaper

Flavor Paper

We haven’t been this excited since our last viewing of “Willie Wonka.” Flavorleague, a wall covering company in New Orleans, has developed scratch and sniff wallpaper. Still recovering from Katrina, the company is hard at work and recently introduced their Fruit Cocktail Collection. The Flavor Paper includes B-A-N-A-N-A-S, Cherry Forever, and Tutti Fruitti. We dig the fact that they contribute a portion of all sales to the Human Rights Campaign. We’re hoping that they will create Snozzberries to go with the rest of the collection.
