Craigslist Ad Likens Tetris to Love
Posted by John Kilhefner Categories: Culture, Internet, Puzzle,
Who says gamers don’t need love? A Philadelphia Craigslist ad has surfaced likening the squishy feeling of romantic entanglement with the cold hard random shapes of Tetris. “The long piece” - the piece that Tetris fans long for in all of their games is what this Craigslist seeking gamer longs for in his love life.
“You know how in Tetris you keep getting all these pieces you don’t want and you keep piling them up on right side of the screen, wondering how many squares you can get in a row when suddenly the long piece comes out of nowhere and for a moment makes everything disappear? Sometimes I feel as if my dating life is like that. I am waiting for my long piece.”
If that isn’t poetic than I don’t know what is! C’mon, there has to be some gamer girl out there for this guy. You don’t even have to be a gamer to appreciate this level of wittiness. Someone just give this guy a long piece… ahem, you know what I mean.

Comic Book Jobs: Checking Out Craigslist
Posted by Tom Mason Categories: Editorials,
I love the craigslist when it comes to job-hunting. There’s always something off-the-beaten path that can be discovered. Maybe it’s a job you’ve never thought of, or somebody just looking for someone to finish their book (“it’s all written, I just need someone to add in the characters and the plot and the structure”), but one thing’s for sure: it’s rarely a dull surfing experience.
Take this job, for example. Do you like to dress up? Do you understand the rules of cosplay for cash? There’s a company looking for “a superhero comic book character to represent our character for our company: think the Verizon guy, think Ronald McDonald, think Jack from Jack In The Box.”

Comic Book Jobs: Checking Out Craigslist
Posted by Tom Mason Categories: Conventions, Editorials,
I find Craigslist very entertaining and amusing. I love what people post over there, especially in the jobs section. A lot of people seem to want others to do their work for them for very little money. Shocking!
But still, there are occasional jobs that are comic book-related, and only a few of them want to see your naked bits, so let’s take a look:
Super Earth: A self-proclaimed yet unnamed “renewable energy company” is looking for a petite actor will to dress up as Super Earth to perform at various street festivals and functions around New York City.
Partial Nudity: I’m sure this opportunity has passed since Comic Con is mere hours away by now, but it was a chance to appear naked in a Dark Knight Returns fan film. You’d have to be under 5’4”, blond and be willing to show off some of your Robin-like skin.
Female Models: Another unnamed company is interested in some comic book-style models for a coffee table art book to debut at San Diego’s Comic Con International in 2011. Naturally, they want some partial nudity too, but they’re willing to pay for a peek at your parts.

Craigslist to Eliminate Erotic Services
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Internet,
Craigslist is dumping its “erotic services” category and will replace it with an “adult” category that they say will be manually reviewed. Postings are no longer accepted and the entire category will be down in about a week. CEO Jim Buckmaster said that they are trying to come up with balance so that legal businesses, attorney generals of Connecticut and Missouri, Internet law experts and free speech advocates will all satisfied. The erotic category accounts for about 1% of the total ads.
