Microsoft launching a $99 Xbox 360 Kinect bundle with 2-year contract?

Xbox 360 kinect 2-year bundle

In its neverending quest to get the Xbox 360 to be the entertainment hub of as many living rooms as possible, it appears that Microsoft has come up with a new tactic to move units. The Verge is reporting that the company is set to launch a new 4 GB Xbox 360 Kinect bundle that'll cost just $99. The catch? You'll have to agree to a two-year contract at $15 per month, giving you access to Xbox Live Gold service, and possibly other streaming features (maybe the rumored music service set to launch at E3?) It's certainly an interesting move that hasn't been tested before, which could be why the report claims that the specially-priced bundle will only be available in US Microsoft Stores.

Gossip: Steven Tyler Signed to American Idol Deal

Steven Tyler

FOX is still parroting the “no comment” line, but insiders say has already signed his name on the American Idol contract. According to one source, Tyler inked the deal last week. It’ll be fun to see whether he ties scarves around his desk mic, too. Now, the big question: who will join the Aerosmith front man at the judging table?

Rumor has it that Jennifer Lopez, who was named early as a possible new face on the panel, is asking for a $20 million salary on top of her own styling team and a large dressing room area (which is being referred to as a “compound”). Even despite all this, sources say that J-Lo still isn’t out of the running…though she’s not the only celeb FOX is currently speaking to about the American Idol gig.

Although he’s already made it known that he’s leaving 30 Rock when his contract expires in 2012, now reveals that he wants to leave acting entirely—to pursue a more private, tabloid-free life.

A’s pick up Gaudin from Yankees trash bin

Chad GaudinChad Gaudin will be moving clear across the country. After being released by the New York Yankees on Thursday, the right-handed pitcher reached an agreement with Oakland worth $700K. Gaudin, who was primarily a starter with the Yankees in 2009 will likely end up as part of the A’s bullpen as many of their current hurlers are sidelined with various injuries. This is a good pickup for the A’s as Gaudin can be used as both a starter and reliever, based on where he’s needed most.

Crawford, Rays don’t reach deal on contract extension

Posted by Adrien Griffin Categories: Athletes, Editorial, MLB,

Carl CrawfordThe Tampa Bay Rays were unable to reach an agreement for a contract extension with starting left fielder Carl Crawford last week, and the two sides have decided to hold off on further discussions until after the season. While this decision probably doesn’t make Rays fans happy about the future of their star outfielder, Crawford is certainly within his rights to not want to create a distraction for himself or his team for the upcoming 2010 season.
