VW Redesigns Eco Car

Take a look at Volkswagen’s revamped carbon-fiber microcar that gets over 200 mpg. The VW features two-cylinders, weighs a mere 660 lbs., and seats two. A basic model will include ABS/ESP, a driver’s airbag, a sequential motorbike-style transmission, as well as LED head and tail lights. Don’t look for extras though, as power steering and brakes won’t be available and air conditioning is optional. Set to debut in 2010, the price should be somewhere between $30,000.00 and $40,000.00.

Honda Thinks Green

PUYOHonda’s new concept car PUYO is made of a gel-like material that is supposed to be safer in case of collision. This must be where they got the name, which translates from Japanese to “touching the vehicle’s soft body.” On display at the Tokyo Motor Show that begins October 27, the car runs on fuel cells and therefore features energy efficiency. The vehicle has a small frame and a roomy “silky feel” interior. Honda will also be displaying its green CR-Z sportscar with its gas-electric hybrid system. Come to think of it, the PUYO does look user friendly.
