Bleeding Edge TV 426: Casio G-Shock GB-6900 Bluetooth Smart watch

We bring you a demo and overview of the Casio G-Shock GB-6900 Bluetooth Smart watch from CES 2012. As you'll see in the video, the GB-6900 features Bluetooth functionality that pairs it up with your Bluetooth Smart Ready smartphones and other devices, and lets you get information from those devices (like call alerts, text messages) as well as send commands to them (like lost phone alerts) all from the watch. Very cool, and we are definitely looking forward to getting our hands on the Casio GB-6900 G-Shock! This was recorded at CES 2012.

Big thank you to MozyPro and JackThreads for sponsoring the show - be sure to check them out! MozyPro provides simple, automatic, and secure data backup. As for JackThreads, we've got exclusive invite codes that give you $5 to use towards anything you'd like on the site.

Casio Bluetooth 4.0 G-Shock ready to roll

Casio G-ShockCasio's Bluetooth 4.0 G-Shock has hit the FCC, and we now know that aside from packing the latest and greatest in short-range wireless tech, it's also shock- and water-resistant as well, and may even be solar powered. Bluetooth connectivity will allow you to get call details right on the watch when your phone is ringing, but should also allow you to silence calls and even pull alarm settings into the watch itself. Since Bluetooth 4.0 has a low energy profile, the watch should last about two years on a single battery. Look for it to drop as soon as more phones with Bluetooth 4.0 are released.

2009 Holiday Gift Guide: Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z280

Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z280

Casio rocks it this year with the Exilim Zoom EX-Z280 digital camera, and we like it enough that we are recommending it in this years gift guide. It sports a dedicated Easy Mode, making it easy enough for pretty much anyone who enjoys pressing buttons to operate, while still maintaining the advanced features for more experienced pros, including ones that you don’t typically find on budget-priced digital cameras. One such feature is mechanical (instead of digital) image stabilization, giving you nice clear shots while you stumble around during a holiday party after one-too-many eggnogs, as well as a 4x optical zoom lens. In addition, it shoots video in 720p, so it can even take the place of your Flip-style camcorder. You can grab one now for $173 on Amazon.

Casio Exilim Pro EX-F1 High-Speed Digital Camera Review

Casio Exilim EX-F1 Product Shot

We’ve all marveled at super slow-motion footage on shows like MythBusters or on sites like CSU’s slow-motion archive, and longed to shoot slow-motion footage of our own.  Until earlier this year, however, the equipment to do so was horrendously expensive.  Fortunately, announced a revolutionary new consumer camera at the 2008 in January called the Exilim Pro EX-F1.  It boasts video capture of up to 1200 frames per second (where normal video is around 30 frames per second) and at resolutions up to 1080i HD (though not at the same time).

We recently got our hands on an EX-F1 and we must say, we are impressed.  Read on for the full in-depth review, including sample pictures and videos.

Casio Tough Movement Watches

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Wearables, Misc. Tech,

Casio Solar WatchCasio is working on Tough Movement for radio controlled solar watches. Using metal and plastic to reduce its weight, the chronograph style is reduced by 0.55mm while the analog is 4.11mm smaller. The watches will be shock resistant and have a hand correction with LED. The hands are detected at 55 minutes and correct themselves if the time doesn’t coincide with the IC counter. The company intends to use the technology on both their Oceanus and G-Shock series. Look for the GS-1200 to debut this September with a price of ¥42,000 (~$388.00) in Japan.
