We know that is busy prepping their 3D strategy, but in the meantime, they are still working on pumping out some awesome televisions with the ZX5 series of Bravia LCD televisions. The Sony Bravia ZX5 sports edge-mounted LED backlighting (no local-dimming Triluminous tech here - boo), 240Hz Motion Flow, a wireless HD media receiver, and a 16.6-mm frame. The set will hit stores in Japan in November, and I’m sure we’ll hear about the US launch at CEDIA.

Sony bringing 3D to Bravia, PS3, PSP

IFA 2009 is one of the biggest consumer electronics shows in the world.  This is where Sony president Sir Howard Stringer has formally declared 3D programming for Bravia and disc players with content by next year. 

We are aggressively running our business in a new and changed reality. The 3D train is on track and Sony is ready to drive it home.

In other words, it’s on.  With Sony pushing toward 3D content, coupled with reports of other TV manufacturers doing the same, we are easily looking at a 3D future.

Sony has a new BRAVIA to lust after, the Z5500. It features their Motionflow 200HZ with 200fps and Image Blur Reduction technology for smooth motion and sharper images. It also has been designed to go with their HT-CT500 Home Theater system. Add to that Engine 3 that analyzes and optimizes video signals from any HD or SD source and AppliCast that can connect to online services via Ethernet without having to switch on your PC.

Sony to Release Bravia F Series

Sony Bravia FSony has added the Bravia F series to its line. It includes a 32-inch WXGA and 40 and 46-inch HD LCDS. They have 3000:1 contrast ratios,  178º viewing angles, and can be mounted on the wall or on an optional metallic stand. With a sapphire black and aluminum design, all they need is a remote that works on a 2.4GHz band so you can sit far back and enjoy the display. How fortunate that they just happen to have one. The F series will be available in Japan on March 25 with prices of 200,000 Yen (~$ 1850.00) for the 32-inch, 290,000 Yen (~$ 2680.00) for the 40-inch model, and the 46-inch for 460,000 Yen (~$4257.00.)
