Samsung Forecasts the Demise of Blu-ray

Samsung believes that Blu-ray will only last another 5 years and then will be replaced by another format or type of technology such as OLED. Andy Griffiths, Director of Consumer Affairs told Pocket-lint, “We will launch the OLED technology when it’s at a price that will be appealing to the consumer, unfortunately that’s not yet.”
Oddly enough, he may be right. We found out recently that Sony is rumored to be lowering the price of its BDP-S350 this month to make it a $300.00 purchase.

Acer is taking their laptops and entertainment to a whole ‘nother level with their new Gemstone Blue line. The computers are meant for those who don’t travel much but still want the latest in high tech on a laptop. On sale next month, the Aspire 8920G will have 6 speakers and an 18.4-inch HD display with a 16:9 screen and 1920 x 1080 resolution. It also has a built-in Blu-ray drive and a price of $1,999.00. The Aspire 6920G comes with three speakers and a 16-inch screen and will carry a $1,699.00 price.
