Man Fined for SMS Hate Message

TextingBe careful when you text message. A German man was fined $2,300.00 for accidentally passing on an SMS hate message right before Germany defeated Turkey in the Euro 2008 soccer tournament. The message said, “by opening this SMS, you have killed a Turk.” Accused with inciting racial hatred, the man claimed that the only reason he was caught was because he accidentally forwarded it to someone whose house was searched by police. We figure texting something like that in the first place would be about the same as saying the “b” word in an airport.

Thieves Alert Cops During Crime

911 SignIf you are up to no good, remember to put your cell phone on lock. Three men in Middleton, NY, were in the midst of stealing some tires when they accidentally turned themselves in. Andre Price, Fabian Corley and Xavier Jenkins were stripping the car when apparently one of them leaned on the car, inadvertently pushing 9 for several seconds. This resulted in a connection to 911 where the police heard then traced the call. All three were caught and will be arraigned soon.

Tina Young of Macomb Township, MI, had a thriving business on eBay. Using the name “dashdeals3,” she was selling $550.00 Dyson Vacuum Cleaners for $300.00. She was also selling other electronics at lower than the MSRP. The only problem was that Tina wasn’t a certified dealer and was stealing them from her local retailers. Police finally captured her and her husband who was working with her by studying security videos, but not before she had managed to sell 63 of the vacuums. Let this be a lesson the next time you think that eBay is offering the deal of the century.

Woman Stalks Man She Met on Second Life

Second LifeThink that Second Life is a safe haven for your kids? Thirty three year-old Kimberly Jernigan from North Carolina met a man, aged 52, on the site, but he broke off the relationship when they got together in person. She apparently went to his Delaware apartment with a stun gun, handcuffs, and the always necessary duct tape. Although she fled when he got home, the man called the police. Now the woman faces charges including attempted kidnapping. Jernigan is being held on $65,000 bail.
