Sharp's 13 new LCD TVs with built-in Blu-ray Recorders

I can’t help but wonder if p has set a record for the most TVs announced in one day as they are putting out 13 LCD TVs with built-in Blu-ray recorders.  These AQUOS DX2 series sets come in the sizes that you see here, with the 40, 46, and 52-inchers hitting you with a contrast ratio of 15,000:1 at 1080p, while all the other smaller models come in at a 7000:1 contrast ratio.  The prices will vary as the 26-inch model costs $1,700, while the 52-inch models retail at $4,800.  So far, this line of recording Sharp AQUOS TVs are slated for a Japan-only release.

Sharp build Blu-ray players into BD-series Aquos LCD HDTV line

is aiming to help eliminate at least one set-top box from your rack with their BD-series Aquos LCD HDTVs, which come with a player packed in to the television unit, announced today at . If interested, you can pick one up later this month in 32-, 37-, or 42-inch flavors, or if you need something larger, next month the 46- and 52-inch models drop. These also bost the Superlucent ASV panel technology which means less glare in the end, and a brighter picture. It also does 24p through HDMI, in case you have an old HD DVD player you have lying around that you want to use (since the included Blu-ray technology doesn’t use up an HDMI port.) QAM and ATSC tuners along with RS-232C inputs round this one out. Full release after the break.

Sharp Aquos Fulltouch 931SHThe Japanese always manage to get the best cell phones first and we always hope they trickle over to the U.S. and the new Sharp Aquos Fulltouch 931SH is no exception to the rule.  This new cell phone is an obvious response to the and its touch technology.  The one thing that sets this cell phone apart is the incredible screen resolution of 1024 x 480, bringing it close to that of a netbook.  The 931SH also incorporates a 5.2 megapixel camera with stabilizer technology, a 1seg TV tuner, Bluetooth with A2DP, an accelerometer, web browser, media player, a microSD slot and of course, a touch screen as the name implies.  The phone also works on all 3G networks, making it viable for U.S. as well as world-wide consumption, although no time-frame has been mentioned.

Sharp Reveals AQUOS X Series

If you have never seen a Sharp AQUOS then you don’t know the meaning of the word “covet.” The company has just released their new X series of LCD TVs. The panels come in 37, 42, and 47-inches with a thickness of merely 3.44 cm. With full 1920 x 1080 HD, the TVs have a doublespeed LCD of 120 Hz, a contrast ratio of 15000:1, 12-bit BDE color, a 3 1.3a HDMI input, and a 1 bit digital amplifier. We visited at and checked out their TV specifically for gamers. It’s the GP3 Series of 1080p LCD TVs, with a 6 millisecond response time, which reduces lag time between your beloved console and the TV. It’s even available in 3 cool colors: Red, White or Black. Available for $1500. We also checked out their D64 Series of LCDs, 20% lighter and thinner than the previous D62 Series. Sizes range from 32” - 65” and are available now.

We loved AquosNet, an internet service in which up-to-the-minute, customizable information (weather, stocks, sports, traffic, Hollywood news and more) appears on the side of the TV screen at the push of a button. AquosNet is free with the SC94 and D74 Series.
