Moshi IVR Clock The Moshi IVR (Interactive Voice Response) Alarm Clock has to be the ultimate in timepieces for the terminally lazy. Turn it on and after it says, “Command Please,” ask it for the time, alarm time, date and temperature. It will also give you 5 minutes of ocean sound before you sleep. The clock can also be set by voice and has a help menu if it is more complicated than it sounds. You can get a Moshi Clock for $32.97 for an end of the month delivery.

Transcend PF810 Digital Photo Frames

Transcend has two new digital photo frames, the PF810W (white) and PF810B (black.) While most companies offer frames that are basically similar, these have LED lit touch-sensitive interfaces built into the frames. The 810 is an 8-inch 800x600 (4:3) color TFT LCD panel with 2GB of built-in flash and can handle JPG and BMP formats. Choose from slide show or single shot mode. It also has Automatic Orientation Sensor and NaturaTone skin color processing, as well as being equipped with an MP3 player, alarm clock, calendar and an FM tuner.

NTT Urgent Earthquake Bulletin

Flash FLET Type Those in Japan waiting for the big one can breathe a semi-sigh of relief. NTT has established an Urgent Earthquake Bulletin service that opens an alert window automatically on their PCs in case of a pending disaster. An alarm goes off and an estimated seismic intensity is displayed as well as arrival time. A standalone Flash FLET’S Type is also available from NTT. It has flashing LED lights and an audible alarm, arrival time and countdown. NTT claims that their service is more precise and up to date than others available.

iLuv iMM183 Speaker Dock

iLuv has unveiled its iMM183 Speaker Dock. With room for both iPhone and iPod 4G or later, it can, like its older brother iMM173, play from either, has a built-in alarm clock, FM tuner and an aux-in jack for other audio sources on the 6W stereo. Add to that weather texted alerts from NOAA and SAME. They come through preset channels and up to 10 of them can be archived. An LED flashes to let the user know there is a new catastrophe brewing. The iMM183 should be out in March with a price probably close to the 173’s $150.00 mark.

iNap Application for iPhone

First iPhones get the handy Google Earth, now go one step further. Suppose you are taking a trip by train, bus, or subway, and it is such a long trek that you can’t stay awake. With the maps and GPS, insert the address, city, or station that you are going to and take that power nap. An alarm will go off when you reach your destination. The application also works with iPod touch. You can download it here.

We have shown you a lot of bizarre radios, so we thought it was time to get back to basics. Boston Acoustics has released the Horizon Solo, their smallest tabletop radio with backlit blue LED. Place the 5 x 8 x 6-inch device vertically or horizontally or set it on its side for cramped quarters. The radio has 3 knobs for mode, volume, and tuning, and 2 buttons for dual alarms. The Solo also features a snooze bar, up to 20 presets, a stereo headphone jack, and an auxiliary and AM/FM antenna inputs. Choose between grey and white and look for a price of $99.99. An extra $9.99 will give you a colored front grill as well.

USB Hub/Calculator Here’s another double-duty hub. The 2.0 USB 3-Port Hub comes with a calculator. It also has a built-in thermometer, a 12/24 hour World Clock, a calendar, an alarm, timer, and time announce. The device supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista and, at a size of 180 x 99 x 22mm and a weight of 149g, the hub comes with its own cable at a price of $19.00. Now that we think about it, it is more like quadruple-duty.

WowWee Tribot

Tribot WowWee has finally moved on from their inane Chatterbots to bring us all the Tribot, which we first introduced you to in February from the CES. Obviously named for its three-wheeled base, the bot can move in 8 directions (including diagonal.)The kewl tilt trigger button allows you to move him in directions by just moving the remote around. He will also tell jokes and stories and refers to himself as “the most rad robot in the galaxy.”

Wait, there’s more. Use Tribot as a guard against alien bots or dogs, as an alarm that needs a tap on the head to shut him up, challenge him to a game of hide and seek, or play one of three driving games. We would have been happy if he just cleaned up our room.
