Elizabeth Hurley Admits Maintaining Beauty is Hard
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, Models,
Former model and actress Elizabeth Hurley admits it’s harder to look good as you get older.
The 44-year-old, who hosted Harper’s Bazaar‘s “Fabulous At Every Age” party in New York last Thursday, says it’s important for women over a certain age to spend more time on their appearance as they need to make more effort to look stunning.
“When you’re older, you have to have your hair cut regularly, you have to pluck your eyebrows regularly, you have to stay slim, and you have to exercise more. So if you don’t give up, you stand out more.”
The Estée Lauder beauty also denied she had undergone plastic surgery to maintain her looks: “Don’t be ridiculous, I look so much more than that and, no, no surgery, not yet. I really don’t have a beauty regime. The only thing I do - obviously - is pluck my eyebrows because I would look like Denis Healey if I didn’t. There is a huge change in your metabolism after 40, and for the first time ever I am having to watch what I eat because I’m quite greedy by nature.”

Quote of the Day: George Clooney on Seeing Himself Get Old
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celebrity Gossip,
“I’m old. I’m kind of comfortable with getting older because it’s better than the other option, which is being dead. So I’ll take getting older. It’s an interesting thing to be able to watch yourself grow older on screen. I was watching Up In The Air and I thought, ‘Jesus, who’s the old, grey-haired guy?’ And it was me. I never wear make-up for movies and now it’s starting to show.”
-George Clooney, 48, joking about increasing age.

Christian Slater on the Miracle of Being 40
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Television, Birthdays,
Christian Slater actually enjoyed reaching the big 4-0. The star of ABC’s The Forgotton never thought he’d make it to the landmark age when he was a Hollywood hellraiser in his twenties.
“I just hit 40, so what more can I say? I mean, the fact that I’m 40 is a miracle. I’m on the other side now,” he said. “I feel like I’ve hit a certain milestone and I’m going onward and upward. If I were looking back, I would say to myself during the tough times, ‘If you can make it to 40, nothing in the past can prevent you from being present today.’ There’s a great author who said, ‘We don’t live life, life kind of lives us.’ I’ve been out of control. But if I hadn’t been, I wouldn’t know how to be in control.”
Christian had numerous run-ins with the law in his younger days, including being arrested for criminal possession of a weapon at a New York airport in 1994, but he insists he has now put his past behind him. He even went back to finish high school.

Claudia Schiffer Poses Topless Without Photoshop
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Health & Beauty, Models, News,
In the fight against Photoshop, supermodel Claudia Schiffer definitely threw a mean punch.
Posing topless for Tank magazine in front of photographer Luis Sanchis, Schiffer bears a striking resemblance to her iconic Guess? campaign back in the nineties—all without retouching.
Whatever she does, the near-40 year-old has it going quite well for her. One thing we can rule out? Botox: “It’s poison in my skin and no one knows the long-term effects. I’m far more scared of that than a wrinkle on my forehead.”
But don’t worry about her, much like Evangelline Lilly, Schiffer embraces her age: “All of my friends are my age and we are all aging at the same time. We talk about it and moan, but it doesn’t bother me.”
This isn’t the first campaign at this age that she’s done without clothes, either; the German model starred alongside Naomi Campbell and Eva Herzigova for Dolce & Gabbana’s campaign ad for their Anthology fragrance. According to her, we can count on seeing her shed clothes in the future.

Renee Zellweger Turns 40 Gracefully
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Style, Birthdays,
Renee Zellweger insists turning 40 hasn’t affected her career.
The My One and Only star, who celebrated the landmark birthday in April, believes that her quirky appearance will always land her roles, regardless of her age.
Asked if she had noticed more exciting parts drying up, she said, “It’s so hard to comment because I don’t see it. I don’t know. I’m so spoiled with respect to the experiences I’ve had and the opportunities I’ve had that I don’t see it. I’ve never been that girl who is dependent on how fabulous my hair is or my stature or that I look good in order to work. So I don’t really think about it in those terms.”
The actress insists the only bad thing about turning 40 is that people are expecting her to feel differently about life: “I’m so sad that everyone keeps pointing to this birthday, ‘You had this birthday, how do you feel now?’ I’m thinking, ‘I feel nothing different.’”
Demi Moore Admits to Having Stretch Marks
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, Rumors, Women,
Believe it or not, Demi Moore has “excess skin and stretch marks.”
The 46-year-old actress, who has been slammed for denying having cosmetic surgery, has hit back at her critics and insists her body has changed since she became a mother.
Demi, who has three daughters with ex-husband Bruce Willis, took to the internet to address the comments she reportedly made during an interview with France’s Marie Claire magazine.
Referring to an old photograph that shows the Hollywood beauty sporting stretch marks, Demi wrote on her Twitter account yesterday, “I still have excess skin and stretch marks!”
She added, “Ahh hate to break it to you but I do. Comes with having a few kids 4 some of us! All this garbage that came out today about me is nothing more than an effort to diminish not just me but all women (sic).”
Demi also used her internet blog to urge her female fans to refuse to conform to ideals about their appearance and be proud of their bodies: “Diminishing us by continually measuring women based on how we look. Or dont look. Creating comparisons instead of connections Say no 2 that (sic)!”

Women Flash Flesh at 40
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Health & Beauty, News, Sales, Women, Skirts,
Women up to the age of 40 are wearing shorter skirts than ever before. In the 80s women generally discarded the mini after the age of 33, but new research shows females are now prepared to flash their flesh for longer.
Spokesman for UK store Debenhams Ed Watson said,
“It shows that women now have an increasing confidence in their bodies and are happy to dress accordingly. If this trend continues, there is no doubt that, within the next decade, women in their mid-40s and early-50s will rightly regard a mini skirt as an essential part of their everyday wardrobe.”

Quote of the Day: Evangeline Lilly on Age
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Television,
“I love it! I really believe that a woman doesn’t reach her peak until her forties. In your twenties you can be pretty, but you don’t accomplish real beauty until you find wisdom and depth. I know it’s going to take me another 15 years!”
- Lost beauty Evangeline Lilly, who turned 30 last week, on growing older. Not something one usually hears from women in Hollywood, eh?

Find Your Internet Age
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Internet,
Here’s another quiz to help you
find your age, at least in terms of the Internet. After answering a series of questions that concern your activities on and off the Web, the site will analyze your Internet Age. Some of us cannot even remember B.I. (Before Internet,) much less what year we started playing around with it, but our result came pretty close to what we think is our I.A.
Note that if you are aware of sites that you never use, i.e. digg or Google, your score will reflect that and they will suggest that you frequent them. The results of the answers will assist the Orange folk in coming up with a safe module for use in schools and you might win a gift for your efforts.
