Over the past three years, we've seen smartphones shrink in size while gaining a ton of functionality. In fact, it's hard to imagine ever using the bulky QWERTY sliders that were just about as thick as the original Game Boy. With the iPhone, Android devices, thinner BlackBerrys, and now WIndows Phone 7 devices jumping into the fray, we've truly got a situation where we are able to do way more than we'd ever dreamed we could do with a mobile phone, in a device that is so small that it comfortably fits in our pocket while the manufacturers tout how thin they are. Speaking of doing more with less, did you know that the smartphone in your pocket has more technology in it than the first rocket that went to outer space?
Now we want to hear from you--hit the comments and give us some examples where you can do more with less. It can be technology-related, or not. We will be picking a random winner based on the comments received. Here are the official rules:
- How to enter: Just leave a comment on this article, focusing on "Doing More with Less". You can leave one comment per day until the giveaway’s close. Each comment must be substantially different than the previous.
- Timeframe: The contest ends on November 29th, 2010. At this time comments will be closed on this post and a winner chosen with Random.org.

Apple’s Find My iPhone is now free

In our opinion, the best reason to subscribe to MobileMe has been the Find My iPhone service, a feature that allows anyone to pinpoint on a map where their iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad are located, in case they can't find them. You can also send a message to your device, play a sound, remote lock it, or even remote wipe. Today, in a surprising move, Apple decided to unbundle the service from MobileMe and offer it for free for the latest generation of iOS devices. So if you have an iPhone 4, fourth-generation iPod Touch, or an iPad running iOS 4.2.1 or later, you're in!
Video: Just how fast is the new MacBook Air?

When Apple announced the new MacBook Air, they touted the speed of the internal SSD drive, which is connected directly to the motherboard. We figured we'd check and see how true this was--after all, we use an SSD inside of a Mac Pro that's much better specced than the MacBook Air. The results were definitely surprising though, as you see in the video. Shutdown to booting up to a usable desktop took less than 14 seconds, which is something I've never gotten on my Mac Pro. That's the benefit of soldering SSD directly to the motherboard. This thing is speedy.
You can get the MacBook Air at a discount from Amazon, as they sell it for about $38 less than Apple, and ship it for free.

Ever since Google released an "official" Android phone, the Nexus One (a.k.a. the phone that provided a baseline of what an Android phone should be,) people have been speculating and wondering when the Nexus Two would appear. In the past few weeks, the rumors have gained momentum once again, and now it appears Engadget received some exclusive images that show the Nexus S, a phone from Samsung that would be the true successor to the Nexus One. A lot is still rumored at this point, but check out the link for detailed shots of every side as well as the interior from this upcoming device.

Google warns users about Facebook data import

Looks like Google agrees with the vast majority of us as it pertains to Facebook's insane policy where they will allow you to import the data of your contacts, but refuse to let you get that data back out of the service. When you attempt to export your contact data from Google to Facebook, you get the warning above, where Google lets you know that once you export your data to Facebook, it is stuck there, and that they "strongly disagree" with the practice. They don't stop you, of course, but they do make it known what's going on, while Facebook tries to hide it.

Kinect for Xbox 360 review

Kinect has been a product that Microsoft has been betting on and hyping for about a year and a half now, ever since revealing Project Natal at E3 2009. The motion sensing gaming peripheral is finally available, and despite some initial concerns, our minds are blown. Kinect definitely feels futuristic once you start playing around with it, but is it worth the $150 price? Read on for our thoughts and Kinect review.

Google launched into the TV arena last month with their very own platform, Google TV. With it, they hope to compete with the likes of Apple TV, Roku, and of course, your cable connection. Unlike its competitors however, they haven't made a hardware device, but instead a platform which device makers can integrate into boxes which you connect to your TV, or into TVs themselves. This platform boosts to bring the best of the web and TV together, into a system where you can add features, search for shows and do so much more. But does this Google TV deliver?

George Bush Still Hurt by Kanye Comments, West Expresses Sympathy

Although it would be difficult for anyone to forget Hurricane Katrina, former President George W. Bush says there is one particular moment surrounding that 2005 event that still stings to this day.
In an interview to air next week on NBC, Bush calls the time Kanye West suggested he was a racist (see the video above) one of the lowest points of his presidency.
"It's one thing to say, 'I don't appreciate the way he's handled his business.' It's another thing to say, 'This man's a racist.' I resent it, it's not true, and it was one of the most disgusting moments in my presidency," he recalls to Matt Lauer.
Having endured his own public scandal since that time, a mellower Kanye expressed sympathy today in an interview with a Houston radio station. (You can listen to that chat after the jump.)

Once in awhile there comes along an experience that shapes the way that we look at things. A video game experience that makes something in your brain tingle. A game where simply a mere melody from its title screen sends nostalgia crawling up your spine. There are a few video games with these kinds of experience that stick out in our minds; not just for being great games, but for their “wow” factors. Sometimes these experiences are shaped by our personal interpretations; i.e. revolving around what was going on in our lives at the time. Therefore, you may have a different top five list, but we can all agree that the following five games helped to shape the way video games are made even to this day.
