Microsoft Kiosk

Microsoft, in a clever move, located an “I’m a PC” recording kiosk outside an Apple Store in Birmingham, England. By the way, if you really are a PC, you can upload a photo or video online and you might find yourself in one of their commercials. The company has already selected several of them in ads that are airing on network TV and are part of a $300 million advertising campaign. We’re all for any idea that doesn’t feature Gates and Seinfeld.

Microsoft Launches New Commercials

The ads will be located on an adjacent panel and if clicked will open a new window. So far the service is only being used for pay-per-click text and is free for publishers, who can also block up to 200 urls if they don’t want it on selected files. On the upside, readers may now be able to obtain files that were formerly available for a charge or not provided online.

Zune Ad Gets Noticed

Monster

With all the attention given to Apple these days, we thought it was only fair that we give a few props to another creative company. Zune aficionados are probably already aware of the awesome video artwork on Zune Arts, but if you are not, then you missed out on some fine animation. The Association of Independent Commercial Producers liked their Zune “Monster” spot so much that they have included it in this year’s Art & Technique of the American Commercial Show. You can find dates and locations of showings on the AICP site.
