Tim WakefieldWhen it comes to pitching, one of the biggest milestones is strikeouts. Ten strikeouts in a game; 200 in a season, all kinds of career numbers, etc. It’s one of those that Boston’s famous knuckleballer, Tim Wakefield is hoping to reach early this season, and MLB.com has him projected to do so against the Yankees. At 1,979, Wakefield is just a few batters away from 2,000 for his career, a number only reached by 63 others before him.

And there must be no shortage of jolliness for big-name film studios as we enter the last days of the year—2007 has been one of the most lucrative in film history. But after the holiday parties end, and the final box-office spreadsheets have been tucked under the pillow (or thrown on the fire), the time comes for rebirth and renewal. After all, the target demographic will be looking for something new, and the critics certainly weren’t impressed with much of this year’s fare. Perhaps everyone can be happy in 2008, as the medium returns to its glory days of content-rich, engaging filmmaking.

Alright, you people aren’t buyin’ it.

Apple Makes Bold Statement Regarding 2007

So, we have MacWorld starting in about a week, and we have Apple rumors flying all over the place. Of course, everyone is hoping there will be an Apple Phone (not iPhone). Others are hoping for a finalized version of the iTV product. Then there are some wishing for a refreshed line of Cinema Displays that have integrated iSight cameras and HDCP-compliant HDMI ports. Oh, and there is also that new Leopard operating system that is said to be pretty fancy. So, what does Apple go and do since they know that they have the attention of the masses? They put up an image like the one above on their homepage, declaring that everything they have done in the history of the company was just the beginning…it was all meant to lay the foundation for what is coming in 2007. Apple fanboys unite, this could be the best your of your lives.
